FSW Fall 2015

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

Certified profile is finally available! But for an additional $35 dollars. Does that seem crazy to anyone else, or just me?

That is exactly why I came right to this thread, to see if anyone else was surprised by the additional $35. I'm paying out of pocket for this program and everything else. I have dropped about 4k so far and have yet to get my uniforms ordered. Normally, $35 is nothing to me but right now....it's all adding up. If this is how they want us to upload our medical docs instead of bringing them in person, then they need to foot the bill.

I dont understand why we have to pay $35 to upload documents. I agree everything is adding up. :(

I'm more than willing to hand in everything in person. I know it seems petty but this really stinks. :banghead:

Funny is that I already uploaded it under medical records why the extra expense to basically do the same thing. Ahh...it is what it is.

I did too :/ Oh well.

I was thinking the same thing. If we already have them loaded in medical records and they have a copy then we shouldn't have to pay anymore. I feel petty about it as well, but at the same time... Really? I've spent so much money and we haven't even started yet. I still need a stethoscope and other odds and ends. It's just so frustrating as this was not a cost that they ever mentioned would exitst.

I agree Tori. Nursing is super expensive so far. Im all set with stethoscope, scrubs and lab coat so I was thinking no more $$. But I guess I thought too soon.

Agreed. I have paid everything out of pocket and received no financial aid due to a previous degree. And I think it's insane to charge $35 for an uploading program. Any way they can make money. Ridiculous.

Anyway- do we have to upload and fulfill every 'requirement' on the Compliance Tracker? I don't think I have a record for every single thing listed on there.

Nevermind. I guess I do have all of the records except a record of my physical. They do give you the links for the forms needed as well. So, I just have to get a record of my physical and I will have everything uploaded. I have all of my books, tuition paid, got my scrubs/uniform, and got my stethoscope/scissor/pen light. So looks like I am all set.

Now, I get to enjoy all of next week in Mexico before it all starts!

What a sigh of relief. The amount of things needed by this program is mind boggling.

I agree. But gotta submit. At least you can just move from medical records to the tracker.

Just wanted to share. I just ordered my shoes. Everyone has size 6 and up. I cannot wear. No one carries 5.5 and if they do they're to much $$$!!! Well, I came across this website. Nursing Shoes for Women scroll over Clearance tab on "where do I find clearance deals on Nurse Mate Shoes and then they will provide you with a discount code information for nursing shoes (nurse mates) at Shoes on Shoeline.com - Free Shipping, No Sales Tax, Easy Returns.. You can get 15% off "Featured Shoes" or 25% off non Featured shoes. I ordered Nurse Mates Bryar White at 25% off:

They would have been 10.00 less, but I need them by next week. So, 53.96. No taxes, no shipping fee. (unless you want to expedite)

The same shoes anywhere else 69.99 and on Nurse Mates.com 72.95 not including shipping and taxes. Hope they are ok. Will let you all know when I get them. I have to track. I must say that the dates for the coupons expired once I looked but it still took.
