Frustrated with Biol 189

What is bio 189...is it intro bio or biology for majors? is it anatomy?

Biology for majors... Must get a C to go onto A&P 1 & 2

OH....hmm I took BIO 124 which is Bio for majors while tutoring for intro bio (all you need is intro bio to get into anatomy)

yes, yes, yes, yes!!!! Do not give up. I had to drop chemistry and audit, then retake the stupid course..also had to do it with math. But, I make it to junior year and made all A's because I was good at English! Also I could memorize and retain the nursing core material because I was interested. Bio may not be your thing. Appreciate that it is harder for you now and you'll be a more focused and disciplined student because of your struggle. We need nurses who have an idea of what it is to struggle. Later when you are working with patients who have trouble learning you will understand and know how to rephrase things so they can learn. I'm betting yo can do this!!! Keep us updated on your progress :)

Pre-requisite classes to me were way easier than nursing school.

Sorry to say this, but from what I have seen, people who don't do good in pre-reqs either can't get into nursing school or can't survive in nursing school. This is what I have observed at least.

I am not sure which school you are going to but like you I struggled with Biol 189 and I don't give a care what anyone else says Biol 189 is tough. The overall material was easy but for me I really struggled with the right study skills. I took really good detailed notes, recorded the lectures and still managed to fail a couple of exams...all in all I got the grade I needed like you although I would have loved that B :) From what I have been told 189 is way harder than introductory Bio and in my personal opinion it really does weed out students. My first day we had over 45 students in my class by the finals 12 showed up...lab we had close to 25 by the last week 10
