I am a new grad, just started my first job in January and just getting my feet wet so to speak. It is really hard, but so far I really like where I am and feel it is a great hospital to learn. My husband came home today to inform me he is up for a big promotion, and if he gets it, we will need to move to another state. The way they are talking, it seems he is going to get it. I am so torn right now, I want to be happy for him and he has worked so hard and deserves this new job title. But I really do not want to leave my job! It was hard to get! We are in a lease until September 1, so if he gets this promotion he will be put up in corporate housing until then, and at that point I will join him when our lease is up. That will give me only 8 months of RN experience. I am happy for him, but scared for me! Plus I know it will be hard to be apart for those months inbetween. The thought of having to leave this job that I am so happy to have is scary. We will not find out if he has it for sure for another 2 weeks. I don't know if I will be able to stand the wait!
Anyone have any luck relocating with less than a year of experience?

Any job experience of less than one year is viewed separatley if relocation is involved.
If you need to follow your husband, look at it as ... one door closes .. and another one opens.
You will be supporting him, and growing in another area at the same time...
Priceless!

You can also go month-to-month on your lease until you find work in the new state and in the meantime continue at the job you have now and continue gaining experience. If you can be apart until September a few more months won't matter and you can plan interviews around your visits to him.
Thanks for the support, I appreciate it! I am trying to stay positive and wait the two weeks to find out for sure!
