Foods to avoid

I haven't started my monitoring program yet so they might give me a list then? So far I've heard to avoid soy sauce, Marsala sauce, beef bourguignon. Also what about non alcoholic wine/beer? Thanks!!

Universe93B, thank you so much for the info!! It definitely helped my anxiety about what I can & can't eat ?

Thanks for this thread.  I used to be so paranoid about this and never even ate out!   Then I decided I can't live like this for 5 years.

I started to eat out, go to parties and eat food there, make my fruit smoothies and even have ate Italian food cooked with white wine and other things.  I get like 4 urine ETGs a month, maybe even more, my state is the worst.  Nothing has happened.  I also switched to alcohol mouthwash, I'm done with that weak mouthwash, gotta kill all the germs!

PassportCruiser thank you so much for your input!! I really appreciate it!! Yes!! Kill those germs!! ?

Glad I found this thread this morning. I'm waiting on a test to come back and concerned it might show ETG r/t some new bread I've been eating which lists 2 types of fermented flour as ingredients. I know something's up with this test because it's taking too long and my CM told me it's a "work in progress with no ETA". I've even done a test since that one and already have those negative results. So, I've been wracking my brain what it might be and then remembered my new bread and checked the label. I'm paranoid because I tested positive for codeine during my reinstatement r/t poppy seeds and had to restart the process. Luckily, I was only 4 months in and didn't lose much time. Uggghhhhhh!!! Hurry up Affinity!!!

This is why I'm so paranoid about food. I am starving LOL. I'm counting the days until I can have good food

I was also told by my program that "no one has ever failed the urine tests because of food.” Now... that's obviously open to some interpretation, but I have made zero changes to what I eat (just to what I drink ?) and it's never been a problem. I also have the ETG test strips and I've never had a questionable read.

@Healer555, I think your question of why someone would lie on an anonymous site is proof that you don't have an SUD (LOL); they lie bc it's simply a part of SUD for many people. They can be heavily in denial, to the point that they are continuing their lies even when it truly does not matter. These programs (and all programs that work with people with SUD) expect these lies. So a lot of the "you'd never believe it but it actually happened to me!” stories that you read about... are in fact not believable ? Now that obviously doesn't have to change how anyone decides what to eat! Just might give you a small bit of peace of mind.

I agree with the denial. When I was first caught I was pissed because I wasn't that far into addiction. Used 1 time every 1-2 weeks to be able to sleep because of traumas I was trying to get over. It took me a few weeks to realize it was a SUD problem, even if it was only 3 times before I was caught.
