I have another year to go but would anyone recommend I start reviewing for the FNP exam now ?? Which review ?

Buying at least one of the major review books while in schools isn't a bad plan; they are actually helpful in studying for your school exams as well. I like the FHEA book but there are several other good ones as well.

I graduate in the spring and I bought the ANCC review and resource manual (PMHNP) this past summer to start reviewing (be proactive is my manta lol). It has everything you need to know presented in an organized and succinct manner. I have been using it for some of my assignments, for clinical reference and for review, it's been incredibly helpful. I don't think you can go wrong in getting it now.

Thank you. I have been so confused with all thT is out there to study from

If you go to the ANCC website they have the books as well as testing info, practice exams etc. As a PMHNP student I only have the one exam option (ANCC), as an FNP you can take the AANP or ANCC. I think their review material is the most appropriate to start with.

Sounds good, thank you...do they go system by system?

Did you like Fitzgerald?

I have a blog devoted to this, what worked for me (everyone is different but at least you get some tips), and a complete study plan that can be started anytime after starting school. The complete plan takes about 4 months but that includes some intensive weeks after graduation. PM me or send me your email, the regulations prohibit me posting the link here.

Fitgerald, Hollier go system by system, information followed by questions on the information, as well as Barkley. Codina like has the information system by system but the questions are all mixed up. CL is actually better because it is more like the actual exam. If you are study neuro, you are thinking of neuro conditions but on the exam, you are not given the focus of the question.

No matter what, use at least two different sources for studying, you will get a better perspective and will not be "locked" into studying the way one reviewer teaches.
