First shift off orientation.

So in 3.5 hours I will go into work and for the first time, I will be "alone". Im freaking out just a bit. Ive had 14 weeks of a very comprehensive orientation with great preceptors, I guess I'm just nervous. My 3 month evaluation went very well, Ive had help from everyone there, my coworkers seem to have a nose for when I need help. Heres to hoping everyones alive when I leave @ 11pm. :D

I work my first shift out of orientation Monday. I am very nervous, but also excited. I really want to be a good nurse, and I hope I learned enough in my 12 weeks of orientation to do well on my own. I could have used 4 or 5 more weeks I feel like, but I got positive evals every night and my preceptor has said for weeks now I'm ready to do it on my own. I just don't completely concur with his assessment. lol

Hope it went well. I was nervous and excited for my first shift off orientation but with amazing coworkers my transition off orientation was smooth. I counted weeks for a while, and now whenever I have to change my charting password (we're prompted at regular intervals)I take a moment and think how far I've come and how fast the time has flown by.
