Finished RN to BSN Program in 6 months and 1 week! Feel free to ask me anything!

Hi there,

I am looking to complete their BSN program in 6 months as well. Which classes should I do first? I heard it's good to start with Community Health and Statistics. Do you agree? I also heard it's not a good idea to tell my mentor that I want to be done in one term. Do you agree? I'd love any advice from you.

Hi skernbsn, I decided not to start the FNP to DNP program at Bradley. I was supposed to start the program in January; however, I realized I was still burnt out from finishing my BSN so quickly with WGU just a few months before that. I decided to just work for a while and am slated to begin the MSN program in Nursing Education with WGU in just a few days on Aug 1st! I had such an amazing experience with them for my BSN, I just knew that the best choice for me was to go back to my alma mater for my MSN!!! Wish me luck!

@ Allnaturalnurse: As the Commuter stated, tests are proctored via webcam or in person testing center. I did at home proctoring via webcam as my home environment was more comfortable and I could test late at night if I wanted (which I often did). I plan to do the same testing method when I begin the MSN program in a few days.

I'm a 2nd yr adn student really interested in possibly doing RN to Bsn at wgu online. The typical 8 week nursing course has alot of material that goes by quick..so how much faster paced is a course at wgu for RN to Bsn in regards to the amount of material learned and work that is being done? Is there a mentor ready to assist you when you're stuck and need help at some odd hour at late night?

For example let's say a prospective applicant has passed their nclex and wants to do RN to Bsn online , how long does it take for every thing to process and actually begin the program online ? Are there documents or important paperwork that we need from the nursing program for the application ?

To piggy back on what The Commuter said, the enrollment process can be fairly quick or slow depending on how fast you get all your documents in. I had all my documents in by Feb 2015 and started April 2015 for my RN to BSN program. Yes, there are course mentors to help you when you are stuck with the material. However, the mentors have designated hours when they can be reached, which will be posted when you begin each class. In regards to pace, how fast you go is up to you! Hope that helps you :)

For the load of work to be done is there hw/projects due every week or other week ?

How many exams are there and are they spread out ?

Are we allowed to use financial aid to pay for the online program or is this personal out of pocket?

There are no hard due dates, as long as you finish 12 credits (approximately four classes) before the end of the term. There are different exams (objective assessments, performance assessments, or both) for each class. Yes, WGU accepts financial aid, but many choose to pay out of pocket due to the affordable tuition.
