find a lawyer that's been a nurse, they will generally advertise the fact that they are/have been both (lawyer & nurse) and typically do medical related cases like auto accident, personal injury, etc. they'll know where you're coming from having been a nurse themselves. if you can't find one, then go with a standard employment law lawyer if it's related to employment. if it's related to your practice, then a civil defense lawyer that's done medical cases (med mal) in the past. you can always call the local or state bar and they will refer you to an attorney, may or not be a referral fee involved.

if you've got a good case or money, just about any attorney will refer you to an attorney that can get the job done. attorneys refer cases to each other all the time for a fee and/or as a kinda back scratching deal.

You find one and ask if they are experienced in defending nurses.

If they "do it on the side"...that is NOT the one you want.
