should i feel guilty?

i have decided to take a leave for a coulple of months and just stay home. i have no kids,no money problems,i am not sick,i am not lazy and i am not sick of nsg. i just want to try on the roll of fulltime house wife for a little while. my husband supports my choices. the problem is my fellow nurses. they cannot understand why? i have even had a couple of them ask how i could do this when nurses are needed so badly. i thought i was making a personal decision for myself. i never dreamed others would take it as a stab in the back. i am not leaving forever. i just wanted some me time. am i wrong for this?

I was thinking about this...

I have a pretty good amount of net worth (I'm just cash poor), accumulated through years of putting money into real estate. My husband and me own close to a million dollars worth of property.

Not long ago, I was sitting on the porch of the nursing home taking a break and the subject of real estate came up. Everyone was talking about their property and I started talking about mine. I noticed when I mentioned my 248 acre farm and my 35 acre farm with a brick house and rental trailer and my 18 acres with a new 2500 SF house and my 5 acre building lot...I saw some people just sitting in their rocking chairs rocking back and forth just kind of looking at me with their mouths half open and I started to feel kind of uncomfortable. I remember wondering if they thought I was a braggart. I wasn't trying to brag, but I thought it probably sounded tacky.

Now, I just keep my mouth shut.

But I don't have things because my life is easier than others. There was a lot of doing without to get those things.

No, you should not feel the least bit guilty. It's no one's business but yours and your husband's.

Nobody can make you feel guilty! You are responsible for your own emotions and reactions to the decisions you make in your own life.

Time to take care of YOUR needs; because there ain't nobody that will care for you like you do!

You'll go back when you're ready.
