FCCJ Fall 2008

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

Good night you guys!!! Thanks for the info Brian!! Off to worksource tomorrow and then the mall to find khaki's.

Hahaha. It was an idea. LoL.

How about getting a piece of paper and coloring it green, then taping it onto your shirt? Creative, yet cheap idea. I didnt mean to go out and buy green stickers. LoL.

Good luck Megan! You'll do fine. It's 90 minutes of her typing and you filling out papers. A lot of signing... Probably 8 or so sheets.

nurse-n-2010 :: i know how you feel. i felt the same way. i don't think that office does good business. have you tried calling the worksource office @ north campus? i would think your application would be in their system and they would be able to tell you something...

update: okay so the worksource guy finally called me back today! he said "yeah i still don't have your income sheet!" w.....t.....f :argue: i said "what sheet?, you said that everything was set?!?!?" (at the meeting on the 17th of july!!!!) i really think he forgot to give me that sheet. and why did it take for me to call them if the needed something from me. do they not know how to use the contact form they had me fill out!!! so he emailed me the form and i am mad because its a simple sheet wanting to know what you make per hour, week, and yearly. the sheet has like four lines on it. are you kidding me, thats it thats all they needed. and at the meeting i remember him asking about how much money i make a hour. i told him that i make money per massage at my company so that's why i don't have an hourly wage on all my paycheck stubs (if i don't have a client then i don't get paid) and i remember him saying okay don't worry about it and he could go by my paychecks (i give three months worth). if i don't get this because it took too long for them to process everything and the money is gone, because of a stupid sheet that he did not give me......... idk. so he told me to fax the sheet asap (like its my fault) and that everything should be fine and that i would hear something within a week.:banghead: omg

sorry again for the vent!!!:typing

Nurse-n-2010 :: Sorry that you are going through this with them. I hate that office. I will never deal with that WorkSource again...besides the fact that it's too darn far away, they are dumb.

OK so now ya'll got me all nervous about worksource cuz I went to that office....I guess we'll see. I'm thinking black shirt, dark jeans(slimming you know, lol)and a look on my face that screams nervous and bewildered. I've met Beth (NavywifeIM) so at least I'll recognize one person. Tomorrow!!!

I am going to wear a brown top and khaki pants. I will not be joining you guys for lunch, you can only abuse free babysitters for so long. I look forward to meeting you guys, if not tomorrow then here shortly.

Okay...I had my appointment with Mary Ann from worksource today and everything went really well. She was such a NICE person and really funny. Highly recommend her to everyone.

I also went and got khaki pants from JcPenny's. The dickies there were 50% off..with an additional 7%off. Great Deals Ladies!!! Just thought I'd let you guys know. I hope everyone is having a great day!!

That's so funny amber (ol' micro pal!), because I was going to post that I have a black shirt but no green dot! Maybe we could wear one or the other and just ask people with either. Oh, and FloridaRN2Be, that was me (Jess) at Statline. I picked up my kit early that afternoon. I agree, the guy there is very nice and we chit-chatted for awhile.

Molse001 - I wish I had your problem with clothes. Can't say I ever had to return a small for an xsmall!:D My problem usually goes like this "Darn these thighs! I knew I shouldn't have had that third bowl of ice cream..."

OMG!!! It's tomorrow!!! I'm gonna color a piece of paper green, that sounds like an easy way. I was hoping they'll have name tags there for us to write on, but the only way to be sure is to call, and I'm pretty sure they know when I'm calling them, lol.

Okay, WorkSource has contacted me to come in next week. I don't know what the decision is going to be...but, if they want me to come back in it must be good!!! IDK. Pray for me.

I don't know what's going on with the outfits. More than likely I will just look for you guys and introduce myself.

I think I'm more excited that kid @ Disney World on Christmas!!

Hooray for you, bossladii! You're right, it's probably a good thing. Can't wait to meet everyone - hooray for all of us!

I'm not wearing black (to hot) or a green dot but I will have my sunglasses on (more than likely). That was the easiest, greatest surgery ever!!!!!!! For anyone thinking about Lasik, go for it. My biggest problem is forgetting I had it and forgetting my drops. Hopefully my fear of nursing school will be as unnecessary as my fear of that surgery! Anyway, I hope to meet some of you tomorrow. If not, I'm sure I will soon. By the way, a friend of mine is in her second term and she had previously sent me all the dosage calc. test stuff so when I got my book I knew exactly what to study. I only have 3 chapters left. It is NOT hard at all. Do not be scared of it. A couple of formulas, a small list of conversions to memorize, and common sense and you'll get it. Hope this takes some pressure off!

Julie
