FCCJ Fall 09 RN

Hello all! Hopefully all of you out there accepted to the Fall 2009 RN program at FCCJ will join me on this thread so we can help each other out. I went today to get my pants and found some of the white ones (come in petites and tall with flared legs and slits to fit over our shoes, Cherokee brand, $13.99) at Uniform Outlet at the St Augustine outlet mall. They also carry the pocket organizers (with flat scissors and pen light included), stethoscope (inexpensive ones, so they may not be of the quality you are looking for) and all the BP cuff things we need.

I am waiting until orientation to order my polo and uniformed top so that we may be able to try them on. Does anyone know what is included in the skills kit and if they will be available at orientation?

I am getting excited and can't wait to meet everyone!

How did you order your uniform at orientation?

I didn't get any emails from Meridy's.

(I placed my order on 08/18/09 though...)

Anyone get an email from Meridy's about not being able to fulfill the uniform order because of them still waiting on the new college logo?

Are you N&W or daytime?

Is there anyone who lives on the southside of Jacksonville that would be willing to carpool at least on Monday test day. Let me know.

daytime

I did not get an email from Meridy, but I did call them to check on when my order might ship. They did tell me that they were waiting for the school to update the art work for the new logo. Until that happens all the orders are on hold.

She could not tell when the orders would ship but that Meridy and the school were in constant communication.

So we shall see what happens next. The good news is that we will not need our uniforms until week 7 or so. That should be enough time I would think to get everyone stuff to them. Alas who knows. Good luck everyone.

Anyone in section 5?

Does anyone have the name/address/phone number of the place that has the skills kit? I know I have asked if anyone has or could scan a copy of the sheet that has all the stuff we need to buy, but I cannot get anyone at the school to return my emails and phone calls and I haven't received a response from anyone else. I help from anyone would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex

The name of the place to get the skills kit is called Stat-line Industries. The phone number is 356-6543. 2050 Haines St.

Meridys is the place for uniforms, Florida Specialty for the blue shirts. What other info are you looking for?

Don't stress about the uniforms.... you don't need them until week 8.

Any idea what the point cutoff was for Evenings & Weekends?

Did everyone get the email regarding volunteer hours? I'm interested in doing the ADA walk in November and was just wondering if anyone else was looking into doing it as well? Do we need to go ahead and register and email out letters now or wait until sometime after classes start? I want to be as prepared as I can. I wonder how many total hours we will have to do this semester.

yeah i got the email and i wanted to do the walk as well! also health assessment is on blackboard now so i printedd off the notes and syllabus (which is 20 pages long).

Assessment is not on my blackboard yet. I hope my classes will be on there by the end of the week so I can everything prepared.
