Fall 2020 El Centro Nursing Program Applicants

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to start a new thread for Fall 2020 applicants at El Centro, since I didn't find one already here. Let's see if we can help eachother out and answer some questions for eachother. Currently, I have 35 points, but will be applying with about 40, I believe. I'm wondering if that is competitive? Also, I need to get my physical, titers, and vaccines, but don't have health insurance. Any ideas where I can get them done at a decent price? I found a website but I am not sure if they will accept stuff from there....

CONGRATS to everyone that got in!

I unfortunately didn’t get in apparently I had less points than I thought. The cut off was 31 points in case some people didn’t know.

I also didn’t get accepted, but wait listed. I think it was my HESI score. I had 33 points.
congratulations to everyone accepted!

Yeah I was pretty much waitlisted too. If you had 33 points I’m wondering why you didn’t get in if the cut off was 31 points. I thought I had 33 points but I guess they didn’t take my pharmacology.

They use the HESI cumulative score as the tiebreaker if someone has the same points

I took pathophysiology in December just like he asked me to. But I still didn’t get in. So not sure why. I will try again in May which I will have more points, because I’m taking pharmacology now.

I know there were some issues with the HPRS/RNSG patho/pharm depending on when you took the class because they updated it in July. So I think if you took them before July they counted as HPRS but if they were after they changed it in July it had to be the RNSG ones. I hope that helps. People decline and drop out all the time so keep your chin up because a spot very well could open up!

Also I think each campus has its own cut off so it may be 33 at one campus and 31 at another.

Don't give up!

I need help. I’m trying to figure out which program to go to in the fall. El centro or Mountain View? Iwant to go to Mountain View. I just want to makesure I make the right decision. Can someone help me?

Hey guys!

Congratulations to everyone who made it!

I got my acceptance email yesterday around 5pm. I was also accepted into Mountain View's nursing program and I'll be doing my program there. I hope by me not accepting this El Centro offer, it'll go to someone else who is trying to get in.

Good luck! ?

Total points: 36

HESI score: 87%

I'm in the same boat. I'm stuck between convenience of travel and length of program. North Lake would be literally less 10 minutes from my house but 2 years and Brookhaven is a little further away but its 16 months. Anybody who's reading what do you think I should do?

I've heard Mountain View has a better setup and graduation rate than El Centro since El Centro was in all that state trouble a few years ago. I would do Mountain View also if you're going to be doing the Texas Tech BSN bridge as well. That's another reason why I'm leaning towards Brookhaven.

Congratulations to everybody!! I got my acceptance letter yesterday for El Centro Fall semester. I am so excited and can not wait to start and meet others in the program. I hope you all get yours soon, as well.

We should make a facebook page for the different locations!
