Fall 2017 Chat

It's that time!

How is everyone? What classes are you taking this fall?

I'm not taking classes this fall - I'm all done. I'm just in the waiting period to hear back about my applications. I was hoping to hear something this week from one of the schools, but word on the street is that it's going to take a "couple more weeks".

I'm trying to distract myself, but it's hard. Just going to the gym, taking my girls fun places and planning our cruise for November.

Hope everyone is well!

Thanks for making this thread Jen!

Im taking A&P 1 this semester and I LOVE it so far! Our brilliant professor is from England and it is so cool hearing him lecture with a British accent.

No problem! I loved A&P!! It felt the first class that was really nursing related. Good luck!

Definitely is! In the second week of class he gave us a timed quiz to convert the M of a solution to OsM. I have a strong chemistry background so it was easy. Others are finding it difficult. Mostly because this class can be taken with Chem as a coreq. I would be flailing if I hadn't taken Chem before taking A&P!

I'm taking Fundamentals of Nursing and Current Concepts of Nursing. I have an exam on the first day, the 6th, on basic math for dosage calculations. I'm a bit nervous since it's only 10 questions and I have to get an 80 or higher or else we have to get a tutor. I hope we all ace this semester and the ones to come!!

I'm taking A&P1, Child Psych, Sociology and Eng Comp 2. I'm sensing more happiness this semester than last semester; Statistics is not my favorite subject, lol.

Statistics wasn't a friend of mine, either. I LOVED sociology. In fact, I loved it so much I almost changed my major.

My journey as a pre-nursing student is *hopefully* coming to end very shortly! I took my TEAS last weekend and submitted my application for the accelerated BSN program the next day. :) Currently taking my last pre-req for the program, which is Human Patho. I have ~5 weeks left but am trying to finish it early since it's online. Plus the sooner I finish it, the sooner I can have some time off of school and just focus on work and living life before nursing school starts! (I'm being optimistic that I'm going to get in but deep down I'm a bundle of nerves and slightly freaking out. lol :nailbiting:)

I'm taking statistics, micro, abnormal psych, speech, and a literature class. SOOOOO much already with projects and homework and work, I slacked this week so next week will definitely be a catch up week. (I work weekends UGHH). All while applying to nursing school. Haha have my interview due Sunday and my essay is scheduled for the 28th (just some extra anxiety added on, no biggie....). So hopefully I can get back on track soon

Just started my first day of nursing school! Honestly, the fundamentals professor I have has really bad ratings on RMP. But she doesn't seem too bad...yet.

I'm taking fundamentals, pharm, physical assessment, stats, and intro to theater. Still in the summer vacation mode though. Need to snap out of it soon.

I was disappointed to hear that I didn't get into my first choice school, but I was accepted into my second choice and I begin their ADN program on October 2nd!!! :)

Yay!! That's great news!

I've still yet to get far studying to CLEP US History 1. Money is getting pretty tight. Initially I wanted to CLEP late August, but my car decided to act up. That's $500 down. Luckily the new job starts in 9 days. It's not soon enough, but I'll try and remain patient. I'll also try to squeeze in some time in the library, so I can be more productive.
