Depends on the state you are applying to and what their requirements are, you will have to start from scratch usually and pay fees to BON as well as pearsonvue. Personally I would just concentrate on RN because you can sit that a lot sooner than waiting to get eligibility to sit PN

where are you from? if you dont mind. i mean what country were you from. actually you can apply for LPN if you applied in BON-CA but you have to pay the same amount for nclex-rn application. I , from the Philippines also failed in NCLEX-RN once and waiting for my results on the 2nd time i took it last december 23. In my case, i will just try hard to pass NCLEX-RN.

If you are interested in applying for NCLEX-PN, try to call the board coz in California , you only need to call them and let them know you applied NCLEX-RN on that state and they will forward your documents to the processor of the PN licensure. Some informations will be given to you though

I think it's always better to have an RN than a LPN since the fees are about the same and better job opportunity. You took it once and you already know how was it like, just need to review the content and focus on a strategy how to answer each question. English is my second language just like you, so study harder is what you need to do. Good luck on your next NCLEX exam.

yea, I passed it on my first attempt. I was scared at first because I knew my English isn't that great, so I spent a lot of time on each question and I thought I failed it big time after I walked out the testing center. I guessed most of the question and now still can't figure out how did I pass it...

i've taken in california board exam. :crying2: that's why the waiting is terrible. i don't like to do the pearsonvue trick either, it kills me. huh. did you use the LaCharity? i don't have that reviewer. i only use Kaplan 2010-2011, mosby and few of hurst.thank you vietguy, i would really appreciate the prayers you could extend to me.

i've taken it last december 23, and they told me that the BON CA is closed usually on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th sundays of the month. hu hu hu

I know how you feel...I had the same feeling 3 weeks ago after I took mine. I kept constantly checking the BON site to see my name on it or not.

I used Kaplan, Hurst Review and Saunder for the review, but I didn't use LaCharity even though most people have successfully passed the NCLEX with it. I think Kaplan is a pretty good review so far, it may or may not work for everyone though. Also, all the QB questions are similar to the NCLEX review. They also teach you a strategy how to answer each question.

So how many day have you waited so far? usually take 3-6 days to see your name posted on the Ca -BON if you have SSN#
