  1. thanks for your responses..but how can i get into acute care setting like med-surg, if they always require 'acute care experience'? my experience is not considered 'acute care'..that's the reason why i can't get into the hospital setting...
  2. hello..i am a nurse currently working in a SNF/ICF for more than a year now and this is my first job as a Registered Nurse, but I am really interested in Critical Care and/or Emergency Dept. Is there a way that I can increase my chances in getting in to those specialties with my experience with SNF/ICF?
  3. im just curious...i have an interview for a RN intern position in ED/Critical Care by next month..my attire is ready..but i just want to know what kind of bag(where i can put my resume and other stuffs) to bring..i just thought that a briefcase is a OVER... any input would help....
  4. before when w're using Pharmacy A, we're suppose to ask for authorization before pulling out narcotics. but now we have new pharmacy, Pharmacy B, they said we dont need authorization code..we can just pull it out from ekit.. the nurses said it was discussed in one of the inservice meeting/seminar from Pharmacy A..that was long time ago before i was hired..so i didnt know about that..
  5. im working in an LTC facility..we received an order for MS Contin 30mg BID the night before my shift...i work 6-2..the pharmacy didn't deliver it yet..so i decided to take it from our "narcotic e-kit" so i can give it on my med pass that morning... then i saw that the 'e-kit' only has MS Contin 15mg. so i decided to take out 2 tabs. is there a law that forbids what i did? taking out 2 tabs to make out the ordered 30mg? my fellow nurses from that facility said that it's not allowed. so im scared and worried.. please help me...
  6. im a new nurse and just got my license last april and im currently working in a rehab facility/SNF/ICF for almost 3 months now. and now i saw that there would be a new grad residency program in larger hospital that will open late of september. and require at least GPA of 3.25 and reference letter from current employer or previous instructors. i really want to enter a residency program since im a foreign trained and i know that there's a lot to learn even after nursing school and it would really help me in my profession. can i apply even though i now for myself that i dont meet the minimum GPA? if yes, what would be the best approach to request for a reference letter from my employer?
  7. i just got an offer for an RN position in a LTC/SNF/Rehab/Geria facility..part time/on call. i thinks it's fine..but i'm still hoping to enter in a new grad program for critical care or ED..
