I took yesterday my teas and I fail I had to get a 62 and i got a 58. I have never fail on anything before so I felt bad and was crying the whole day yesterday. In science I got 61 and math 80 but english and reading I score low 51 and 45 . English has always been my second language and reading I felt pressure while I was taking the test. I had to guess on some of it because I was running out of time. :/ I study for a month and bought the ati manual and the back of the book I did on the practice got a 66 on reading and 70 on english and I don't how I score low on my exam. Now I have to retake it and score a 62 on each section and am scare to retake and score low . Now I don't know if I should start on the bottom and become an lvn and work my way up at any instution . I also want to retake so what other study formats or book should I buy to get higher score.
I fail my teas yesterday and I feel terrible because I have never fail anything before. I needed a 62 and I got a 58. I feel that all the sacrfices and all the prerequisites I did wasn't worth at all. When I saw my score I was crying the whole day. I don't know what to do if I should start from the bottom and go to school for lvn and work my way up. Nursing is what I always want to do so I'm willing to do anything for it. Does anyone know any lvn schools in orange county or los angeles county. My score was 80 on math 61 science and english and reading 45 and 51 around there. I still can't explain how I got bad score if I bought the ati manual, study for a month and when I took the practice test. I got a 66 on reading and 70 on english. I can retake it again but I have to score 62 on each section. So does anyone know any other books I can buy and study for it.

Is English your first language? The post reads as if it isn't, and I'm not familiar with the Teas, but it looks like reading was your lowest score? Taking a test in a foreign language can be extremely difficult, even if you know the material well. Your score was so close to passing! Can you take it again?
Yes english is my second language and I could retake it again but now I have to score 62 on each section.

Typically, in order to compete with other applicants, you would want scores as high as possible in each section anyways. I personally used the TEAS Review Manual from ATI, and I did relatively well on the test. Really, it's all about practice for all the sections except science. Science, you literally need to study everything because the questions are so disperse that there's no real way to predict which questions will be on there. There's so much material and A&P that the questions could ask anything. I hope this helps :)
So yesterday I totally fail the teas!! :/ I was crying yesterday a lot because this was my first time failing on something and nursing is what I really want to do. My score was a 58 and the passing score is 62. I bought the ati manual and study for a month before taking the test. When I took the ati practice test on the book I got a 70 on english and 66 on reading but on my exam I got 45 on reading and english 50 around there. I still can't not explain how I fail when I did good on the practice test maybe because english is my second language. Math my score was 80 and science 61. I can retake the teas again but now I have to score 62 on each section which puts a lot of pressure. What other books are good to study for the teas. I'm just so afraid of failing again. Also do you know any lvn institution or programs la county or orange county. I need to have a plan B. I'm willing to do anything to become a nurse even if I have to start at the bottom.

I would look at your score report and see what sections you struggled in, take those practice tests again. I used this practice book, which is really cheap, and was able to read the answer explanations to help me understand the content.

Try this book: 501 Reading Comprehension Questions. It is a great study tool for the reading section of the TEAS. It starts off easy and gets harder. Really a great tool to increase reading comprehension. Good Luck to you. Sorry that you failed. Good luck retaking!

It might be good to take more ESL courses. When you get into nursing school, there will be a lot of papers to write, and you'll really want to have your skills down. It's also important when you're documenting on your patients.
Sending you positive thoughts! Don't be too hard on yourself, just take the steps you need to improve, and review your study materials. Good luck!

I don't know of any books, but I failed the math part of the compass. I went to the college bookstore and found compass math study guides. You could visit your college bookstore! Don't cry over it anymore :)
There is a 501 grammar book as well! Check them out. They really are a good source if English is your second language. Good Luck to you. :0)
