Just extracted a pinkie finger from a metal ring that attaches the tennis net to the support pole. Never a dull moment at the middle school. Good thing I brought lots of vaseline and an ice pack.

Good for you! I currently have a kid holding ice on a finger with a ring stuck on it. I have no idea what to do if it does not come off...

When I first read this I read it as the pinkie finger was no longer attached to the hand.
THAT would've been a great day.
YouTube the videos of how to get a ring off, they do it with string or floss. It actually works. I did it on a patient in the hospital with the strap from an oxygen mask.

i've done the dental floss technique! very effective :) unless of course the ring is all bent up- which i do have a ring cutter as my back up if that's the case

Had this happen once. Mom came to the school and brought her bolt cutters. 5 minutes outside with mom and little darling was back inside going to class.
I tried with the dental floss! I hope the ice does the trick

I've had to use both of these. Ring cutter is good to have for a bend ring and on zip ties on fingers.
