How many points did you have when you were excepted (or not) to CSN RN program? Be sure to include which semester and year you applied. This is for all of us pre-nursing students who want to know if we have a good chance. So far I have 20 points. I applied for spring 09.:wink2:

I know a lot of people between 24-26 points total w/ NLN results of course. I know a few people with 26 and up but their GPA's fall between 3.8 - 4.0. The points system is crazy! It's hard to imagine these r the same people I'm competing with? I'm not sure if CSN full time program is gonna accept over 100+ for spring '09 (budget cuts & all), but I'm hoping they do. I really don't want to end up going to NSC, I've been hearing bad things about it.

I got in for Spring 08 (which uses the current point system) with 30 points. The cut-off for full-time was 23 points.

my friend was accepted into CSN fall RN program with 25 points , 4.0 GPA and i am soo happy for her.. i think she starts the end of august.... congrats to all who were accepted... it's a awesome program and worth the wait to get in...

a girl i know who is in the program said she was admitted spring 08 with 21 points, even though the cut off was 23 for that semester according to the admin assistant i spoke with in building K. Apparently according to her(the advisor/admin lady) there is a solid cut off number and then they try to make room where they can because some people don't have everything completed on time to start the program. (failed drug test, shots not complete etc). also, she said that this spring semester she expects it to be harder to get in because she expects more applicants than usual due to the change in application cut off dates from last year. but i don't really know...all this here say, and to think...now we have to wait till what, December to find out? ok i might just go mad in the mean time. :no:

I am going to apply for spring 09 and I have 28 points. I am just waiting for my grades for summer to post on my DARS before submitting my application. Does anyone know when we will be notified of acceptance or denial?

yeah i actually just called today to ask when we will know and i was told that it will take 8 weeks from the close date so whatever 8 weeks from september first is. however, this was not from the lady in charge of the limited entry, i think it was just an admin so that may not be accurate. i'd imagine they'll have a better idea in a few weeks. :)

Hi All,

I just turned in my application to CSN for Spring 09. I spoke with the woman in the Limited Entry Office and she gave me the following info:

For the Fall 08 class the point minimum was 21. She said that was unusual because it was the first semester that they had the deadline mid-semester and applicants could not use points for classes they were currently enrolled in and they had a low number of applicants (170-ish). She guesses that those students will apply for Spring 09 and that the point requirement will be a bit higher. In the past it has been in the 23 to 25 range.

She also said that the students that are accepted will receive a phone call prior to the end of October. If you do not receive a call by then, call the Limited Entry office.

Thanks so much for the information. I'm hoping to apply for Spring 09. I have 30 points but i'm waiting on a transcript to be transferred before I can apply.

The people in administration are completely worthless. I had so many problems with them when trying to transfer my credits. They lost my transcript first, then I resubmitted it - they told me they received it and then they lost it again. I resubmitted - they filed it under my middle name instead of my last name (technically lost again). I resubmitted a fourth time and finally they did transfer my credits. It was a very long fight with them though. If I were you I would stay on top of them so that you will be able to apply. Don't trust them!!
