Evening RN Programs

Hi I'm an LVN in California and I am interested in an evening RN program. Both classes and clinicals in the evening, not the weekends. Does anyone know of any schools anywhere in the US? I am willing to move anywhere! Thanks!

yes very! so far i found galen college in st petersburg. thank you I will definately look into it!

In GA we have two schools that I can think of off hand. 1. Darton College in Albany, Ga. 2. Breanau University in Gainesville, Ga. I don't know all the particulars about but I know they have evening programs.

Pls dont go to darton. Its all about the $$. They accept like 120 students and btwn albany campus and cordele maybe 20 graduate. Go somewhere where they are positive and dont enjoy failing students to get extra $$. trust me on this

I agree with Kristen82483,

Darton is all about money and not teaching the reality of nursing today. There is more classroom than actual clinical time. You would want to be confident in the skills that are provided as an entry-level nurse, not asking how to perform a skill that should be conquered in NS.

SAC San Antonio College which is part of ACCD has the program. Why do you want an afternoon? Why not just look for a part time job at night and do day classes. Wayland Baptist University San Antonio has an even better program then LVN to RN, they actually have the LVN to BSN. I have many people in my classes that say that it's hard to find such a program. Many of them have relocated just to attend. Maybe you can find something close by that has that program better. According to surveys in the next couple of years most hospitals will want you to obtain your BSN. Here in San Antonio some hospitals are already hiring BSN before ADN.

Good Luck

Platt College, Oklahoma City. . .the school has a horrible local reputation, but they do offer an evening RN bridge program with classes from 5pm to 9pm and clinical rotations from 3pm to 11pm.

Wow they purposely fail their students? Do they offer help I just applied for Summer 2014 and just sent the application Friday and learned of this site today.

I don't believe that is true. I have heard that they have a great program and you have to work hard and study hard but isn't that every program? I applied for spring 2014. If I am not accepted then I will be applying for summer

I am currently attending Darton College and I will have to disagree that Darton is all about money. Darton is a great school and you have plenty of clinical time to learn your skills. It's a very hard program to stay in just like any other nursing program. Of course if you start off with a large group of people you are bound to lose some along the way. If it wasn't for Darton I would still be applying to nursing schools now. I currently have a "B" in Med Surg 1 and one final exam left for this semster. I drive 2 hours to get there and would recommend it to anyone that is willing to do the work.

Thanks for the feedback I just got accepted to Darton for spring 2014 and I am so excited! Do you have any tips to help me?

Lovenotwar, Congrats!!! My tip would be to start off strong in the beginning,do lots of questions and as u will hear from the fundamental teachers ' Read, Read and read again'. I used "Fundamental success" by Davis I think is the author name to help me with questions, it was a life saver last semster and this semster. The fundamental teachers are a bit rough but I liked it bc it helped me remember my info...I wish u the best!!
