End of Year Prep

This is my supply list order for next year: 2x2 gauze, 2x4 bandages, 1x3 bandages, various other sizes of bandages, table paper, eye wash, medium gloves, 3 oz cups, accell tb wipes, medical tape, 2x4 gauze, feminine supplies, hand sanitizer.

I have a 4 drawer filing cabinet for student records. My confidential records are on the very bottom drawer along with any students who have withdrawn in the last 7 years. They are broken down by grade level and each grade is color coded. Any student with a religious exemption is marked religious exempt on the top of their label and put in the very top drawer before my kindergarten records begin (that way if for some reason I need to exclude students due to an illness, they are in one location). the inside of my records I have goes as follows: Immunization record, physical, then screening with the most recent screening first then any accident reports. My students who have a confidential record on top of their regular school health folder has a red C marked on their regular health folder, so that if they move to another school in the district, I can make sure that their Confidential folder moves with them.

That is a great tip! I think for next year I am going to distinguish the exempt kids and any kids that are not UTD with a sticker or different colored folder.

We have a health insert in the cumulative file, We keep everything in there and then when the students are ready to move on to 7th grade we thing the files out removing duplicate and non essential information (junior high doesn't need a 2nd grade doctors note for a tonsillectomy).

As far as the supply list my RN gives me an inventory list, I write in how much we have on hand now and she orders over the summer. I'm going to attempt to attach it.

I actually keep a spread sheet in my google sheets. I break down each exemption by how many (if any) of each dose, and whether or not I have paperwork on file to support. This can then be reached remotely when school is not in session and answers may be needed.

I have a spreadsheet, too - with names and what is missing. But it might be helpful to have a visual when I'm looking at the physical files.
