emergency cases - what's your record?

what's your record?

I recently did a caesarean where we went from knife to skin to baby out in under a minute. I was also involved in a DHS that took seven minutes from first incision to final suture. I'd love to hear about other peoples speed surgeries!

forgot to add, would also love to hear about your marathon efforts on traditionally quick cases - we did a 4 hour pacemaker the other day.

20 minute lap chole is pretty impressive!! for extra points, did you do an intra-op cholangiogram?

new one: three hour cancellation! Patient on the table at 2, then an emergency in recovery, so anaesthetist had to go out there, then there was a query about his post op destination, then waiting on test results... cancelled him at 5pm.

I've got one of these guys too. on a half day lust he'll have two or three joints and usually something else as well.

I did a case once where I scrubbed for a joint, got the patient out and the next one in, then went to go for morning tea. As I was leaving the theatre, I was asked to go help another theatre get going because they hadn't even had kts on their first patient.
