Ekg

I am taking a quick, three day continuing education course in EKG interpetation and need practice. Anyone know of any web sites that contain practice strips?

I really am enjoying this class, but am annoyed because they will only offer the certificate if you pass their test that I have to take on Wednesday with an 85. These strips are really difficult and also, I have to admit that I am really burned out from nursing school to 'make the grade', now. I just wanted to take it for my enjoyment and add it to my resume. Does it make a difference if I just add the course to the resume in case I don't pass this exam? I am getting the flutters again just like when I was in school...I remember why I hated the college experience... Who would have thought that continuing education would offer headaches...??

I found this site SO useful for EKGs that I now recommend it to everyone. Try it out. The info is good, the strips are good and the little game tests you skills. I love it and use it to brush up some times...its not a 12 lead one but still....I LOVE IT

Just want to say 'thanks' to all your responses. The passing score to receive a certificate was 85 and I got an 86. I would have done better, but got my A-V blocks all wrong. I knew that they were heart blocks, but made the mistake of not fully understanding on the strips how Second degree type 1 and 2 and Complete heart block was to show on the EKG strips. I know how to verbally describe them, but got them mixed up. Anyways, she gave me partial credit for at least recognizing that they were heart blocks. Now, next month, I'll be taking the 12 lead EKG class. This is very interesting, and I am glad to have taken the course. Thanks, guys!!

Glad you did ok. Just make sure you keep studying those strips becasue you should have those mastered before you move on to 12 leads. Just my oppinion.

Thanks. I definitely intend to. This is actually very interesting stuff and I purchased a wonderful workbook that explains these things and has plenty of examples to practice with...repetitive things. Now, the 12 leads...tell me, how is that different? Is it that it is displaying different perspectives and locations of the heart? It does look a bit confusing to me, but I actually look forward to this. Sort of like an area to focus on for self-development. :monkeydance: So happy I did well that I am actually dancing around the joint!
