I'm a nursing student that loves the heart. I do well on all my exams and can explain what is going on in the heart really well when doing teachback to my classmates. However, I can't seem to get ECG's? Most of the class is struggling, not sure what the reason is but it seems so easy for the nurses on the floor.
Is there a reference that you would recommend to learn from? I will put in the time to learn but am looking for some guidance for perhaps an easier way to learn and understand them.
Thanks...

EKGs Made Easy is a great book and you can get it in a small pocket sized version. Another great resource for a visual learner is YouTube, there are many great teaching videos on there. Don't worry, once you get over the hump it will all come together and just click.

^^ like all the practice rhythms strips you could ever dream of. Also just search youtube until you find ones that you like watching.

skill stat ( ECG Simulator - SkillSTAT ) is another fun resource to quiz you once you get a better understanding. It's hard to learn them in school-you'll find you get better with experience. I am 6 months post graduation and have been working on a cardiac ACU for 3 months. I have gotten a lot better at reading EKGs in those 3 months. It takes a lot of exposure to finally start getting comfortable with reading rhythms. Stick with it!

I used this resource all the time during nursing school and some when I started my job in the CVICU. VERY helpful.

My Med Surg 2 instructor recommended this link. Not as helpful as the first, in my opinion, but still a nice resource.
