EC study material and college network.

ok... I have been checking on ebay to purchase the set of college network study guides. I am getting all confuses about what was required before 10-2007 and what is required now. I thought that there was just a extra test added to the adn requirements?

anyhow.... i have found some guides, and the explination reads:

" the College Network 2006 Nursing Modules 1-6, Foundations of Professional Practice, Rx for NCLEX Success (3 notebooks), Rx for NCLEX Success Handbook and Focused Study Plan and The Human 3D (Extensive Anatomy & Physiology) CD/ROM."

Are these the study guides that I will need to buy to assist me in passing only the nursing 1-7 test for excelsior now, for EC post 10-2007? or is this somthing totally diffrent?

Thanks in advance!

Here's a quick comparison of the new curriculum:

Essentials of Nursing Care: Health Safety = Nursing Concepts (NC) 1

Essentials of Nursing Care: Health Differences = NC2

Essentials of Nursing Care: Chronicity = NC3 + functional assessment (new) + end of life care (new)

Essentials of Nursing Care: Reproductive Health = NC3 + congenital anomalies (was in NC4)

Health Differences Across the Life Span 1 = NC4 (minus congenital anomalies)

Health Differences Across the Life Span 2 = NC5 + cognitive assessment (new)

Health Differences Across the Life Span 3 = NC6

Transition to the Registered Professional Nurse = Foundations of Professional Practice (AKA NC7)

You are not required to buy anything from The College Network (TCN), but yes, those study guides may help. Some people complain that they aren't enough to prepare you for the exams; I wouldn't rely on them alone, and I'd only buy them if it was a really good deal. :) I used TCN guides (not alone, but as supplements) for NC1, A&P, and Micro, and they were okay.

I am under the new curriculum and used the CollegeNetwork NC modules bought on Ebay. I liked them alot but I did not totally rely on them alone. I also used the recommended text that I got on Half.com. I found them more helpful than the chancellor books.(just not enough info IMO). I paid about $38 per book on Ebay and sold them back at $35-55. good Luck on whatever you decide.

I saw on Ebay today "Excelsior College" study guides with a blue cover. Does anyone know how good are these guides? TIA!!!
