I was wondering , required to do home health visits as a LVN it states you must have 1 year nursing expierence in home health or medical surgical. I have 2 year expierence working in a medical surgical unit but as a CNA. Does that count? The requirement doesn't specify that it must be as a working lvn

No. Must be experience as a licensed nurse.

If it says 1 year of nursing experience is needed, then 2 years experience as a cna does not qualify as experience. In home health you will be working solo. That's not the safest option for a new nurse. Your best transition into this field is to get a job in skilled nursing around other nurses. Have you applied for a nursing job where you got your cna experience? I would start there.

I think if you're in Cali, and you have less than a years licensed experience, then I believe there is still a loop hole so to speak if your employer has like some sort of "new Grad/nurse" training/monitoring program. That's what I recall from when I graduated and started doing home health visits in Cali.
