Nursing Students TEAS

So i just applied to the lpn program at lcctc. I plan on taking the teas soon. Ive already taken prerequisites at community college for math, chem, bio, and a few others, so i really dont feel like i need to study. I dont want to waste time studying or send the money for the book. But, admission really stressed to study.

Did you study? Was it really that hard?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok so, I heard it was pretty easy high school level. I still got the ATI book and semi studied... the english was reasonable to me the math was easy for me... very basic... but the science, oh boy! thats what you need to study. I thought i was just body science and thats what i studied for NO WAY! Life and plant science. Get the ATI book make a study calendar and study. My program didn't turn you away for a bad score they just wanted to see where you were at scholastically.. but if your program needs a specific score... STUDY!

Yes, you need to study. You don't HAVE to spend a lot of money. Amazon has TEAS books for under $20. There's videos on YouTube. But yes, you should study.

You really should study for the TEAS. As others have indicated, you can find many resources on the internet and in bookstores for what to study. Some of those resources will also have practice tests so you can see where you're having trouble.

I also suggest doing the online practice exams that ATI puts out because they'll be very similar to the TEAS itself and you'll get a good idea how you'll score on the actual exam. I would do one, check the results, study for a bit and bring your weaker areas up, and then retest a week or so before the TEAS itself to verify you've made progress. Then take the exam and it'll really be very much like the ATI practice exams but the content will (of course) be different.

Definitely study. Maximize your score as best you can.

That really awesome you have a youtube channel. Its relly hard to find vlogs for other lpn students! I'll be subscribing ☺

The short answer: Yes! I had to take both the TEAS and the HESI because I applied to more than one program. The TEAS is harder than the HESI, but passable. Just because you took your pre reqs means nothing; you will still need to study...especially if getting in to your program is your goal.

So here is the thing you need to keep in mind...

I know a girl that didn't study because she wanted to see if she could pass it and if she didn't, well no big deal because she could take it again right? Wrong! When she went to apply for the specific nursing program, they had changed the rules for applying and only allowed for one try to pass the teas exam and since she already failed, she wasn't able to apply. So just study...

I studied my tush off for that test and barely passed!
