hi-
i just took the nclex-rn 2 weeks ago and did not pass with 75 questions. i thought i was more than prepared to pass the test. i think i must have more test anxiety than i thought. i have started to rebuild my self-esteem and will retake it on aug 1. wish me luck.

I feel your pain. I just took mine today. Machine shut off somewhere between 125 and 140 (I wasn't looking). I know I failed. I only got 1 check all that apply, 1 med calculation. The rest were who should you see first, etc.
I thought I studied pretty hard for this, but I guess not. I didn't do 3,000 questions like they say you should, but I did do practice questions every day since April.
I'm really bummed out about this!

Why don't you wait until your results before you get so bummed. You might have passed. The number of questions is only the number of questions.
you sound like you were prepared. i am sure that you passed! the computer knew that you passed with that number of questions and did not feel the need for you to have to go any further. great job. keep us posted!
am i alone ?
i just retook the nclex today for the second time. it seemed easier, but this time i took all 265 vs the 75 the first time. i still felt like when i was taking the test, i should know this, but was only able to narrow it down to 2 and hopefully picked the right one. it is frustrating because i thought i was prepared the first time, but this time even more so, and now the next 48 hours will be terrible. is there any truth to the first person in the room to take the exam gets 265 questions?
thanks

hi there! i see this has posted a few times, i don't know if there was a glitch?
anyway, getting more questions is nothing more than an indication the computer needed more info to determine if you were above the passing standard or not. sometimes, people are so close to the line, going a little above, a little below, that they get all 265 questions before that determination is made. and it could go either way, so i wouldn't freak that it means you failed any more than it means you passed. unfortunately, this is the hard part: waiting it out for results! i hope, for your sake, though, that you passed :)
as for your last question: no, that's an urban myth. the computer tests you, no one else. other people in the room may very well be taking other tests, too....brokers, etc. they are completely unrelated to your exam. the computer gave you 265 questions because that's what it needed to do based on the answers you were giving it. it made questions a little easier, you got them, it made them a little harder, you got some and then you didn't, and it did this dance up and down until it finished.
hang tough!!
