dictionary

Hi

I am in my 3rd day of my nursing degree. I have been told to get a dictionary to help with medical terminology and that it will be needed within some classes.

What I was wondering is what is the best thing to get? I have seen many different ones. Secondly I have heard people seen and heard mentioned medical dictionaries and nursing dictionaries.

What would you recommend, which is better?

Thanks

Mosby's Dictionary of Medicine, Nursing & Health Professions is a great one!

I use Tabers and like it

Specializes in Hospital Education Coordinator.

I use Steadman's. Ask if you can use a mobile app so you do not have to drag around the book.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

I didn't use a medical dictionary during school. If you need to look a term up, there are plenty of free websites and/or phone apps that can prevent the purchase of a book that will eventually collect dust.

I was issued Mosby's Medical dictionary during school and never had the need to open it when technology is at my fingers.
