Dccc Students!!!

Could you please share with me what you got on the NET to get accepted. I'm concerned with the reading comp section. :( I'm hoping that I could get a 70, but is that good enough to actually be accepted?

Also, how are you liking your nursing school experience?

Thank you thank you!

I'm also a lil nervous about the fact that i's on a computer. I read that we can't go back once we've entered an answer...don't know.

Do you have the study guide? Everyone seems to rave how the study guide was so helpful, whereas i think the practice exam was too easy in comparison.

Some people said the exam was really easy (they must have a different version). There was mentioning of passages regarding mammals and hibernation and then alligators. Someone else mentioned about cell replication or something like that.

Oh, and I read that Eriworld sold NET to some other company and they're going to discontinue it because it's outdated. So the NET is going to be offered till December. After that they will come out with a new test maybe.

I wonder if DCCC is going to get rid of testing and start asking for pre-reqs like other school. That would suck a lil for me.

Yes that would be horrible! Especially If we didnt get in this year, ya know. So are they making a new/different entrance test? That would suck too because then people who have attempted the NET would have to study for something completly different. I do have the eriworld study guide and I guess it is helpful, but I do think the practice tests in the back are easier than the real thing! And that is what I studied from the first time and did not pass! But I didnt study a lot and I didnt really pay close attention to everything it said. Where as I go back through it now, Im getting more from it. Did you take it once already? I also think there is an advantage to have already taken it because now I know what to expect. I also have another study guide called "Secrets of the NET", and I want my money back! I think I googled just about everything possible for the NET! I still dont feel very prepared though! What study guide do you have?

oh my god you're my twin!! i got scammed with the secret of the net too!!

yup this is my second time as well! i was too cocky the first time and didn't study the guide as well as i should! MAN WE ARE JUST TWO PEAS FROM THE SAME UNFORTUNATE POT!!!

:chuckle

Have you been to this site?

http://hfcclab.info/NET/readingprelude.htm

It gives you a NET practice test and it also gives you excersises to do to help with main idea, predicting outcomes, inference questions, things like that. Its pretty cool!

yea i'm studying from that now.

i wish dccc offered workshops or something helpful like this school is.

how did you score last time? i got a 93 on math and a 63 on reading.

i wonder if getting a 70 on reading would be good enough to get accepted. people seem to be getting really good scores.

INTIMIDATING! :banghead:

HA HA! Thats crazy! And it was supposed to be a monet back garuntee right, well I read someone else tried to get their money back from it and morrison media wont answer theyre emails! That sucks b/c it was $40 that we could have used for our NET test! I also bought theyre practice tests, and they sucked too! They were WAY easier than the real thing....

I know it is VERY intimidating! I got a 98 in math and a 55 in reading:confused:. And it's not like I cant read or comprehend what I read, ya know! I always got good reading scores in high school(of course that was a few years ago) but I think it was mostly the time constraint.

I know what you mean. There are moments during the practice exam when I just flat out disagree with their chosen answer.

So you took the NET practice exam offered from eriworld? the one for 15 bucks or something? I was thinking about taking it but if it's too easy just like the book what's the point?

Well I was referring to morrison medias practice exam (secret of the net). Theirs was too easy. But I also bought eriworlds practice exam and it was similar to the real thing but you only get one practice test. And you have 7 days from the time you bought it to take it, which is fine but once you take it, they dont even tell you which answers you got wrong. You can take it againg and again (in the 7 day period) but you never know which answers are incorrect and why. It's almost like the real thing though if you wanted a practice run, but if you dont score high on it youre kinda left dazed and confused!

oh okay! i guess i might get the practice exam from eriworld maybe a week before my exam then.

on your secret of the net practice exam was it like four exams you got? First two were broken up in passages, the other two were reading the whole thing and then answering questions. i'm wondering if we have the same thing.

Well, I got 2 practice exams from the study guide (I got the book instead of having them email it to me, the book is yellow and black) and they are broken up passages with a few questions in between. Then when I bought their additional study guides, I got two more but they were like the first two. (broken up passages) Did you have them mail the book to you?

Sorry to confuse you! I wasn't talking about the study guide book. i bought the book from the DCCC book store.

I was referring to the scam website that I purchased.

http://www.thenetstudyguide.com/

Now that I think about it, it might be a different website than the secret of the net you bought. if it's different, maybe we could swap since we already paid.
