Dccc Students!!!

Could you please share with me what you got on the NET to get accepted. I'm concerned with the reading comp section. :( I'm hoping that I could get a 70, but is that good enough to actually be accepted?

Also, how are you liking your nursing school experience?

i think i got a 97 total.... i am pretty sure though that people with an 85 at least got in. as far as the program, i start in the fall so i dont have any input on that yet, but i'll let you know!

if youve only taken the NET once, take it again. scores greatly improve the second time around, since you know what youre in for.

Thanks for answering my question! Congratulations for starting school!!

Do you remember what you got on your reading comp? I got a 93 or something on math so I'm not as worried about that part. I was just curious whether 70 on reading would be good enough to get it.

I got a 98 total.....Just as the previous poster stated, I heard that you are in pretty good shape with a 85 total or above.....Good Luck!

but what did you guys get on your reading comp? the handout from DCCC says they look at reading comprehension score first.

I got a 97 in the Reading and 99 in the Math. I think they look at composite scores first and only if there is a "tie" do they go to reading first then math......I might have read it wrong, though, it seems like decades already since I took them....Good Luck...

i just looked back at one of my old posts, since i didnt remember exactly what i had scored and i wanted to give you an answer. i got 97% in the math, 87% in reading. composite percentage is 92%, composite percentile is 99%

You guys have such high reading comp scores!! Was it on your first try?

I didn't even make 70 this time. Seems like now I better get at least an 80 to get accepted.

NERVOUS!!!!

I don't remember exactly but I think I got a 75. And I got a 92 or 93 in math. And I got accepted and will start in the Fall. Good luck!

Oh, and I only took it once.

No I havn't taken mine yet. My test is scheduled for 8/21. I think the more time I allow myself to study the more nervous I get. Kinda wish I can change the date now.

Any way, I wish you the best of luck. :yeah::yeah: HOnestly I think most of us stumble on the reading comprhension mostly because we lose track of time. If we just speed up our reading a bit I think getting a 70 is doable.

Please come back and let me know how you did.

Oh, and my first time my reading comp had two easy passages...then one really hard to understand one about ears and medical terminology.

Could you let me know what yours was about? I wonder if the articles will be hard to understand.

Yea, when I took the test the first time, (6 weeks ago), I did lose track of time and was rushing on my last like 10 questions and lost all focus. I paniked! I agree, the reading comprehension part is a little tough! And we HAVE to get at least a 70. I do remember there being the medical terminology and some paragraph about the ear. My friend said she had to take it 3 times, and finally passed on her third try. And she said all 3 tests were EXACTLY the same! I was told they were 3 different tests, but i guess we will see! Thanks for wishing me luck and I will definatly let you know how I did and give you any pointers for the second try. If your as stressed out as me about it, I definatly think you will need it!!:chuckle
