  1. Hello Everyone, I am one of the lucky ones. I finished school with a high GPA, worked as a nursing assistant in the OR, GOT A JOB full time in the OR and they are willing to train me!!! How lucky am I?? A lot, I know. My question is this: The hospital is a smaller community hospital who is providing me with a hands on orientation for up to a year. We only have a few scrub techs, so all RNs must be able to scrub and circulate. I feel honestly, that only after a few months, I REALLY like circulating and am pretty good at it. I am still not ready to be on my own, but pretty good. As for scrubbing.....I feel like I am lost sometimes. My preceptor, who is great, is telling me I am doing very well. I just am the type of person who likes to master things quickly. My questions are: 1. If you are a RN who scrubs, how long did it take you to feel "comfortable" in the role? 2. Where would you say I should be after about 20-25 shifts of general surgery scrubbing orientation? 3. Any suggestions about becoming a better scrub? 4. When you scrub, do you ever feel like you are not performing "nursing duties?" The other day, I am ashamed to admit I didn't even know the sex of the patient we were operating on. Thanks in advance to any experience nurse who is willing to give me advice.
  2. Hey Guys, I am currently in the program. I do know that the main campus acceptance letters get sent out first and CCH second. I am in CCH and I got my letter last year around mid-November. As for "Math for Nurses" I tested out of it. If you do not test out of it, you must take is prior to NUR 110 or while in 110. You have the opportunity to test out in April/May during an orientation session. There are several sections every semester including the summer. If you have any other questions, let me know....
  3. I got a 97 in the Reading and 99 in the Math. I think they look at composite scores first and only if there is a "tie" do they go to reading first then math......I might have read it wrong, though, it seems like decades already since I took them....Good Luck...
  4. I am in the day program with a Professor Dreisbaugh. If anyone has any words of wisdom, please feel free to pass them along...Thanks...
  5. I got a 98 total.....Just as the previous poster stated, I heard that you are in pretty good shape with a 85 total or above.....Good Luck!
  6. Hey.... I am starting in the Day program at the Chester County Hospital facility. Like yourself, I am looking forward to starting also. It has been such a long ride to get to this point that I am just waiting to get going. Are you in the day or evening program?
  7. I am waiting to see if I can test out of the 1 credit Math course. I did A&P 1 on line at HACC and taking part 2 starting this week. You have to go to Harrisburg once a week for the lab but it transfers if anyone is interested.....
  8. Hey Guys, I got in the Chester County Program too....I am really excited. I am done with all of my pre reqs except the second part of A&P which I have in the spring. I wonder when the spring meeting is....are you guys in days or nights?
