CSUSM ABSN Spring 2012

Has anyone applied for spring 2012 ABSN program at CSU San Marcos? I applied back in june and now that I have seen the average scores for the Fall 2011 program I am in a state of panic. Sure I meet the average for the other cohorts, but I am definately at the low end of the fall 2011.

I just wanted to know if anyone had applied for the spring 2012 ABSN program and how do you feel about your chances.

I got "conditionally" admitted! So i guess that means if i pass my chem lab course, I'm in. waiting on sending my deposit because I got into the Temecula campus and i live in SD so I'm currently trying to switch to the San Marcos campus, hopefully it all works out. Either way, excited on being admitted, good luck to you all!

@socalgrl: Congrats!!! I also received my acceptance today! :D I was accepted to the San Marcos campus.

Congrats! well sounds like i might be able to switch, so maybe ill be seeing you this January! Ill keep you posted, in the meantime just waiting for Jay to call me back!

Yay I'm so excited for you guys!

@socalgirl.. So this chem lab is your last class you had left to take? did you just need the lab or the lecture as well? Reason I'm asking is I'm pretty much in the same situation but with my micro class!! When did you take your TEAs test and when did you apply? Thanks!!

Ya I took a much harder version of this class at UCSD and got a c- so I have to retake it. I applied I think late august and took the teas august too

Is it o-chem for the pre nursing core ? I applied late July and just sent in my teas 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping to hear from them soon!

its actually the gen chem lab (kinda embarassing, but i swear it was really hard at UCSD! lol) and yes, for the pre nursing core. Im sure you will hear soon, its still very early!!

Congrats you guys! Did you receive something in the mail or by email?

Aww well chem is hard ! That's why we're trying to do nursing and not pharmacy lol :)

I'm wondering if my situation is gonna be different from yours since micro is listed as a pre nursing core class and your gen chem would've just been a pre-req for o-chem which is what is listed for the pre-nursing core .

For those of you who got accepted: If u don't mind me asking .. would you be able to give is a ball park estimate on your teas acore and gpa for the core and last 60 . I just wanna see if I have a chance at getting in this January !! Thanks guys !!

I tried calculating both gpas but I don't remember exactly what they were, and when I tried calculating them I wasn't sure if I should have converted the quarter units to semester units but both were around 3.5 regardless and and teasI i got an 89 raw score and depending on how they calculated those gpas I had anywhere from 33 to 37 on the point scale. Btw sorry typings all messed up im on my phone

Thank you for the info! I guess I just got to wait till this class is over before I hear anything! I hope that by Dec there are still spots open for me lol!!

@USMC: Here's what I think EL used to calculate my points. Pre-nursing GPA: 3.7ish - TEAS: 87.5ish - Last 60 credits: 3.95ish. I'm estimating my total point value was about 40. (This is totally a guesstimate b/c it really depends on how they calculate the GPA's.) Hope this helps! And I hope you get in!!! :)
