  1. Congrats you guys! Did you receive something in the mail or by email?
  2. Its just the application and fee. There is no other fee. They wont even start evaluating you until you have everything sent in that they require. I still haven't received an email back from the advisor and it has been over a week.
  3. Yes please share!! I am hoping that maybe there will not be as many applicants this year so we can all get in lol. Wishful thinking I know. I wish they gave more points to science majors! And patient care experience!
  4. UCMC: Yes you count back the last 60 units on your transcript however if you out back and you only need 3 or 4 units to be 60 units, I read that they include the WHOLE semester/quarter. Which is very annoying to be because that last quarter that I have is TERRIBLE!!!!! ugh! I should have been a liberal arts major gotten a 4.0 then gone back and took my science courses slowly to ensure an A....but noooooooooooooo I wanted to be a Zoology major and take insane courses like ornathology, and herpatology which made my GPA suffffffeeeeerr they should be called GPA decreasers.
  5. amyca: yes my university replaced my grade it was the same exact course and it was a FLUKE! totaly not my fault! our whole class failed! and we actually got the professor pushed into retirement because of it. I didn't even think other colleges would use the first score since it is not factored into the GPA very strange, and annoying! What do you mean by adjusting your pre-nursing? how do you do this adjustment? I have been trying to get ahold of my advisor I sent an email last week....and yesturday...and today...I guess they are busy.
  6. UCMC: My Teas score was slightly higher than the average. amyca: when you received your evaluation sheet did it have your rank on there? because I don't see it on mine. They just filled out the sheet for my pre-reqs and the GE's and the classes for the first semester. then they gave me another shee of the nursing classes that was blank and the GPA for my Pre-Nursing Core.....which I am protesting!! They completely screwed my GPA by merging a grade that I had replaced during college that doesn't even factor into my GPA because it was REPLACED not repeated people ( I mean it technically was repeated obviously but I replaced the grade so it shouldn't count how can they average it?) ! I must contest it better be a mistake because I really don't think I will get in if they leave it that way!UGH!!!! I am so annoyed right now. so does this mean that if you retake a course to try to achieve a higher GPA that they will just average the two so it will be impossible to achieve anything hire than a 3.4? but heaven forbid you recieved a C then retook the class to get and A....so then your average will be a 3.0......meh. ok I am done ranting.
  7. Just got word That my evaluation arrived in the mail! This is going to be a really long day! Did they tell you if they will notify us through the mail or email?
  8. Amyca: OMG! NO WAY! my stomach just did a flip! Especially because I haven't heard from them yet as far as the Worksheet! *mini freak-out* Well I just hope there are not too many people with a 4.0 or the like. I am at the average for my teas and I WAS at the average for my gpa until this fall! LAME! hopefully my Zoology Degree will count for something. *fingers crossed* Good Luck!
  9. amyca, I am just curious as to the background of the people who are applying, what there major was, how long has it been since college and if they are already in the health care industry or are trying to change their career completely. Or maybe people haven't started a career yet and just decided they wanted to go to nursing school right after their undergrad. Or maybe some people tried to get into medschool and either didn't get in or decided they like the nursing model of care more. Whatever the case is, I think its interesting.
  10. HI!! Well studying for a month is good. I studied for a week and took the test, I "Passed" it according to the program; however, I still did not like my score so I retook the test a month later after studying and recieved a much higher score. My suggestion to you is..... DO NOT FREAK OUT lol just stay calm and relaxed that way you get more oxygen to your brain. But I know what you mean, I freaked out the first time I took and and ran out of time on the math section. The only thing that saved me the first time was the reading section, and science. If you are a slow test taker, like I am, I would say tak your time on the math section to get them all right, that way if you run out of time you only miss two or three instead of freaking out and guessing as you go and getting them wrong. Also, if your major was not science, study anatomy and chemistry. Good luck!! This is to everyone: Out of curiosity.... Who here had a major in the Biological Sciences?
  11. HEHE I too have been checking my email almost every hour, especially when my boss angers me! lol I am just like, "ok I can hear something now! I don't want to be here anymore" I will post something as well if I hear something!
  12. So I looked at the posts from last year and it looks like people started to find out if they got in, in the beginning to mid October.
  13. 10 WEEKS!!!!! *sigh* I sent all my suff in together too 6 weeks ago, then retook the TEAS and sent the score in last week. Well this is most insghtful, now I know not to be on edge for at least another 4 weeks. I bet we don't find out if we get accepted till November.
  14. I just sent in my second TEAS scores in last monday, but I applied in the beginning of July. I still have not heard anything from them, then last monday they said 4 to 6 weeks, so I am not sure if that is for the worksheet or for acceptance? amyca, how long did it take them to send you the advising worksheet?
  15. Hello Hello! I actually did retake the Teas exam and scored MUCH higher the second time. So now I feel much better about my chances, but I am still nervous. I emailed CSUSM on Monday and they told me 4 to 6 weeks I should hear something. We shall see. Best of luck to you too! :)
