CSUSB FALL 2021

Hi! I was wondering if anyone is applying for CSUSB's Fall 2021 admission? I have not seen a forum, yet. However, I wanted to make this forum, so we can share our stats and help each other out during the process. ?

Just to clarify- admissions said all notifications for admissions to the university would go out by April 1st. The person I spoke to most recently said the nursing school won't start evaluating until they know who's admitted and it will be a while (probably May) before we get notification of acceptance to the BSN program. I'm anxious too and the waiting sucks, but just wanted to let you know so you're not expecting an answer so soon.

I had a mini heart attack. I had to double check if they had pushed the date again, so I emailed the nursing department to get clarification. This is what they said regarding notifications;

I believe CSUSB's Office of Admissions has started sending notifications of acceptance or denials to the university as a pre-nursing student. Please check you MyCoyote portal if you are inquiring about your university application.

For the second application, the Department of Nursing has not sent Fall 2021 notifications of acceptance or denials to the BSN program yet.
There has been a delay in Department of Nursing application evaluations. Our website was updated last week to reflect that notifications of acceptances or denials to the BSN program will be sent toward the end of March instead of mid-March.
Notification will be sent to your CSUSB email account.

Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

Leann Bactad Pulido

we should find out this week or next according to the nursing department. ? hopefully this helps!

Does anyone know the average TEAS / GPA that gets accepted into the program? Trying to weigh out my chances here LOL.

Usually the average admits have: 3.8+ GPA and 84%+ on the TEAS. However, these only pertain to locals! If you're a nonlocal, they will usually admit people with higher stats.

I know a couple people who got in with TEAS scores in the 70’s.

To have an avg. for the GPA and TEAS they have to take low and high scores. The combined scores will make that avg. ? there is hope! ??

Well this is great news! Thank you for sharing and I stand corrected!

Hi guys,

For those who applied to the program as a transfer, I was wondering what science course you took for the Chemistry pre requisite. I know that CSUSB updated their pre reqs for chem so did you have to take an organic Chemistry and general Chemistry?

From RCC to CSUSB its Chem2A/2B ?

Thanks so much for the response!

So I just looked that up and it's introductory Chemistry? I took one semester of introductory Chemistry at my CSU so I just wanted to know if your course was one semester or two semesters?

Both of the courses were one semester each. Here is the agreement, it's from 2019-2020, but it still applies!

During my info session, they said that if people had already completed the Chem prerequisite under the old requirements (one semester of Intro/Gen Chem) then we didn't have to meet the new requirement for admission for Fall 2021. But they said if not admitted for fall and want to reapply for Spring 2022, then the new requirement (2070 or equivalent, which at my CC is two semesters with the second being organic/biochem) would have to be fulfilled. So I decided to take the second course this term, even tho I completed the old requirements in 2019, just in case I don't get in for fall. I hope that makes sense.

Just to clarify you took one semester of introductory Chemistry and are currently enrolled in organic/biochem? Does that mean your introductory chem course fulfilled part of the pre req for chem and the course your taking right now will complete it?

Thank you so much, Can I ask how your experience was with your organic and biochem course? I've only taken introductory chem and am a little nervous/worried about organic and biochem as I've heard it's a really hard course. I have a 4.0 right now in pre reqs and don't want to ruin my GPA over this course.
