We are on our second semester and it is challenging. We are all doing great, it is possible to get As but having said that, don’t go in with the mentality of having to get As because there will be an exam that won’t be an A and it can be disappointing. Something they stressed about was “you aren’t competing against others” it’s just really about soaking in all of the information at a very fast speed. Teaching and Learning techniques are very different compared to pre-reqs. Come in with an open mind and be ready to adapt. You’ll have to do a lot of nursing process and judgment, the style of question on the exams are close to being case scenarios and as the semester goes the questions Can get a bit complex. You can prepare yourself by reviewing material pertaining to the class you’ll be starting, to give you an idea of what will be covered. ADN to BSN have their own schedule, not sure what their schedule looks like. For classes, first semester was two days for lecture and one day of clinical. This semester is two day lecture and one day clinical. Clinical usually falls on a day we do not have classes. For our cohort, our classes have been on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Clinical varies, they have us in groups. As for sites, if I’m remembering correctly, our cohort has been divided between Kaiser, Saint Bernardine, Ballard and Arrowhead. I’m sure everything varies because we are under a lot of changes due to COVID, just be prepared to be adaptable to changes. ? I think overall Nursing School is challenging, and it is just so that you’ll be better prepared for the NCLEX. Definitely search for tools that will be helpful like the Saunders NCLEX or Level up RN videos. During school they will also give you tip and or resources. ?

I was as well. I figured it out today. You go on your Coyote account and then click Task or To-do icon. After you click it will take you to a list of things to do and you should see a tasked that says "Orientation registration" However, I paid my $100 fee first so im not sure if it appeared after I paid it.

yes! that is the email. you have to follow the instructions to accept your space. There is hope! I have a 3.9 in my pre-req. and in general/bilingua/local and in my TEAS I got an 80% I was very scared about my TEAS score. I'm so happy I got in!! Celebrate ?

I got the same email too. We have until May 1st to pay and do the orientation. my anxiety is through the roof! ? they said end of March... I wonder if they will wait until the last day to send out the emails. has anyone received the nursing email yet?

To have an avg. for the GPA and TEAS they have to take low and high scores. The combined scores will make that avg. ? there is hope! ??

I had a mini heart attack. I had to double check if they had pushed the date again, so I emailed the nursing department to get clarification. This is what they said regarding notifications; I believe CSUSB's Office of Admissions has started sending notifications of acceptance or denials to the university as a pre-nursing student. Please check you MyCoyote portal if you are inquiring about your university application. For the second application, the Department of Nursing has not sent Fall 2021 notifications of acceptance or denials to the BSN program yet. There has been a delay in Department of Nursing application evaluations. Our website was updated last week to reflect that notifications of acceptances or denials to the BSN program will be sent toward the end of March instead of mid-March. Notification will be sent to your CSUSB email account. Thank you for your patience. I think you do it however you’d like. You can wait to accept. I think you must accept by may 1st the universities offer.

Hey! When I had a meeting with a counselor before apply at Cal state San Bernardino, she told me that if I did not get accepted into the nursing program in the fall that accepting the admissions to the university would help me. She said that for the Fall she would recommend me taking some of the upper division classes we would need to get it out of the way. Then she told me when I reapply in Spring then they have a different criteria for people who apply the second time but you have to be a student at the school. From my understanding she said the applicants at the school get priority before the new or transfer students. I would try to see if you can talk to a counselor and double check. The pre-nursing program is impacted being accepted as pre nursing is a good thing. I haven't paid my acceptance fee I am also waiting to decided what to do. Hopefully we find out soon.
