CSUSB FALL 2021

Hi everyone,

So I just got the pre-nursing acceptance email earlier today. At this point, is there anything we need to do or just wait for the final admission? 

I'm so nervous and excited at the same time.

Also, do you know if I have to accept the university admission first? Being accepted into the university doesn't mean being accepted into the Nursing Program later as well right?

Hey! 

When I had a meeting with a counselor before apply at Cal state San Bernardino, she told me that if I did not get accepted into the nursing program in the fall that accepting the admissions to the university would help me. She said that for the Fall she would recommend me taking some of the upper division classes we would need to get it out of the way. Then she told me when I reapply in Spring then they have a different criteria for people who apply the second time but you have to be a student at the school. From my understanding she said the applicants at the school get priority before the new or transfer students. 

I would try to see if you can talk to a counselor and double check. The pre-nursing program is impacted being accepted as pre nursing is a good thing. I haven't paid my acceptance fee I am also waiting to decided what to do. Hopefully we find out soon.

May I ask a silly question? Do we have to accept the University admission offer or wait for the Nursing Program admission and accept both at the same time?

I think you do it however you’d like. You can wait to accept. I think you must accept by may 1st the universities offer.

Best of luck to you too! I’m very nervous ? I wonder if they will wait until the last day of March to sent out notifications. I hope they do it this week! I keep refreshing my email. ?

Just to clarify- admissions said all notifications for admissions to the university would go out by April 1st. The person I spoke to most recently said the nursing school won't start evaluating until they know who's admitted and it will be a while (probably May) before we get notification of acceptance to the BSN program. I'm anxious too and the waiting sucks, but just wanted to let you know so you're not expecting an answer so soon.

Hey,

No, you don't have to accept the university admission to be considered, she just told me the BSN program requires an offer of university admission as a first step before they review apps. As far as what to do if we haven't heard about BSN acceptance by the deadline to accept university admission, I'm really not sure. Maybe if anyone else knows or knows what prior years have done they could share?
