Sep 13, 20169 yr The first page is given the breakdown, but I'm not that good at math but I'll tell you the way I didScience GPA + Cum GPA/2 + 2*(Teas overall in decimal) + 2*(Teas reading score in decimal) = score (out of 10)
Sep 13, 20169 yr Hi everyone! This may be a stupid question, but how do you know what your overall score is?Do you calculate it yourself or does Monalisa inform you of your score? Thanks in advance! Its easy to calculate your score:For science score calculate cumulative GPA for all four science coursesTake your cumulative GPA for the "Golden Four" GE's and divide that number by 2Convert your TEAS overall score to a decimal and multiply by 2Convert your TEAS reading score to a decimal and multiply by 2Add all four of these numbers and that is your total score. The closer to 10 the better.
Sep 13, 20169 yr I appreciate the positivity, and I haven't given up complete hope. I think it's that I froze, and I was so nervous I struggled. My stats areOverall score: 9.12Science GPA: 4.0GE GPA: 4.0Teas overall: 83%Teas Reading: 73%I only finished 75% of the reading test before it closed. I realized I had 5 minutes left of reading when I was about half way through. I will keep faith, but at the same time I can't have high expectations. You should definitely retake the TEAS if you don't get in this round. You're allowed to. Don't let that perfect GPA go to waste.
Sep 13, 20169 yr Hey so I don't know if you guys looked at the stats for the last two semesters. Fall had a cutoff of 11.45 and spring was 11.29. Keep in mind in that in fall they went with a 13 point scale which includes a two point communication exercise and one point for military experience. It seems that more people are having lower scores with the reading portion of the TEAS. It had always been math for the longest time which was super easy. This may cause the scores to dip a few percentage points which may be in many people's favor.
Sep 13, 20169 yr (tired) I'm curious on what others are submitting with the 10 point scale with the new changes to reading... This is the first semester of the change right? It is hard to see how different this semester is from the previous. It would be nice if we had some pool stats for using the reading test instead of math.

I have no idea how I got 100%, I was sure I got at least two wrong. I can't imagine that there will be as many people with high 90's in reading like there were in math in the previous years.
Sep 15, 20169 yr I emailed Monalisa a few days ago to see what my score was and was told they are not telling people what their ranking is anymore because many people are focusing too much on that. I think she thought I was asking about my ranking on the admission or alternate list, but I just wanted to know my score. Anyone been told the same thing?
Sep 15, 20169 yr She probably thought you were talking about the ranking, she's not doing that anymore bc the applicants for fall2016 were making a big deal out of it and were "taking away from the communication exercise" so yea, they killed it for the rest of us
Sep 15, 20169 yr Ok well I emailed her back and she said my score is 9.69. I hope I get in. My issue is that my nursing stats are good but I don't have a total of 30 units of GEs yet from all areas for the university's requirements. I was told by admissions that if I get accepted into the SON then I'll be accepted into CSULB. I've only been preparing for a year so I was only able to finish the four main GEs and nursing prerequisites in that time. So far I only have areas I, II, & V complete. The rest will be done by the end of fall. I'm applying to a few other CSUs in case this falls through.
Sep 15, 20169 yr Oh, I heard CSULB would only accept based on acceptance of SON and completion of the transfer requirements. If transfer requirements aren't completed even if you are accepted by SON you wont get accepted by CSULB. I could be totally wrong, just what my counselor told me.
Is anyone applying? :) I thought I'd start a thread.
