Mar 3, 20206 yr Author Does anyone know if the hospital(s) you are assigned to for clinicals are based on your location and/or preference? I live in Culver City, which is why I ask. I’ve read from previous forums that the trimester program does all of their clinicals at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, which is a reasonable distance from me. But, I also heard that the semester program does clinicals at several different hospitals. I am curious if I get accepted into the program and I am assigned to the semester program, if the hospitals I would do my clinicals at would be assigned based on my location and/or preference? I was curious about this information after reading from previous students in the semester program that they did clinicals at various hospitals in Orange County such as: Saddleback in Laguna Hills and Hoag in Newport Beach which is about 50 miles from where I currently live. I know students are chosen for the trimester and semester programs through a lottery, so I just want to be prepared in case I am chosen for the semester program. Any info would be appreciated!

From what I know, typically students do not have a choice in were their clinical are. It could be different at CSULB. Maybe email an advisor and ask? You can also ask at the communication activity.
