  1. @ninja1968 I'm so sorry to hear that? I'm sure next year, classes will be in-person and your choice won't all be for nothing! Although the communication has been a bit iffy, I love CSULB so far! Classes are going well and I absolutely love the faculty. All of my classmates I've met so far have been super nice too. Everyone just helps each other and we're all learning as we go. As far as financial aid, I'm taking less than 12 units and I still received a scholarship and was offered student loans from the school as well. Again, I'm sorry to hear that you're a bit upset with your choice but hopefully things will look up and you'll come to love CSULA. Wishing you the best! ?
  2. Absolutely! Back in February I remember breaking down crying and thinking that I wasn’t going to get in anywhere. Now I’m so relieved and excited!
  3. GUYS I GOT AN EMAIL SAYING I'VE BEEN ADMITTED FROM THE WAITLIST!! I’m so happy right now but it was an email from the school, not the nursing department. It says, "You are offered admission to the Nursing Basic B.S." I think that still means I got in! I hope that I'll hear from the nursing department to make it official
  4. I meant to post this in the CSULB one! I'm so sorry haha, I tried to delete it but I'm not sure how
  5. GUYS I GOT AN EMAIL SAYING I've BEEN ADMITTED!! I’m so happy right now but it was an email from the school, not the nursing department. I think that still means I got in!
  6. I think I read it on last year's thread but people on the waitlist got a call on May 25th saying they'd been admitted!
  7. So relieved we finally heard from them! CONGRATS everyone, it's official! For anyone else on the waitlist/alternate list, are you signing the attached document and then scanning and emailing it back? Or do we physically mail/drop it off? All it says in the instructions are "Please return a signed copy of the attached letter by Friday, April 17, 2020 to either accept or decline the terms of your alternate status for the Fall 2020."
  8. I really want to call/email them tomorrow and ask about my spot on the waitlist... but I also want to wait until we get an official email from SON but who knows when that will be. What do you guys think?
  9. ☺️Thank you! I really hope I do! Best of luck to you guys at CSULA!
  10. Does anyone know if you can find out your spot on the waitlist?
  11. I got waitlisted! I'm still hopeful though
  12. @SeiMa I'm just relieved to hear that letters are still on their way especially due to reading the past comment about other nursing schools not admitting anyone this term! The waiting is definitely difficult but I honestly really feel bad for the graduating cohort and the admissions staff right now. Things must be pretty hectic...
  13. Ahhh OMG I’m setting like 5 alarms! Good luck everyone, we’ve worked so hard to get here!
  14. @ninja1968 I'm really hoping for semester! One student told me "Whatever you do, don't take trimester."? I know I could handle it but I'd prefer not feel rushed; nursing school is already hard as is! And also I'm not in a hurry to graduate or anything
  15. @Jessikaaaa I feel like this shouldn't even be a concern anymore! Especially over something that is helping you with your insomnia! So my parents are both nurses, and my dad even works at Saddleback (one of the hospitals nursing students do clinicals at), and they said that the only instance they would get in trouble is if they are high while working. It still is worrisome though, as using marijuana is a federal crime. I would suggest that if you need to be tested, maybe you could find another alternative? Just in the meantime? I know that's not much help but until it's legal on the federal level, better safe than sorry. Especially since you worked so hard to get into the program at that point!
