CSULB Fall 2014

Hey everyone!

Did anyone else apply to CSULB for Fall 2014? The school app was due last Saturday, and then we have the month of January to submit for the School of Nursing.

Based on previous threads, it looks like we are invited to an interview about a month after the deadline, and the cutoff was ~9.1 points.

Here are my stats so we can see how we stand this year!

Science GPA: 3.58

GE GPA: 3.77

TEAS: 97.3

TEAS Math: 100

I think that works out to about 9.4 points... the average keeps rising each year, so it would be nice to see where we all fall!

Good luck everyone :)

Hi everyone!

I just received the call from --------------- that I was in the program (I was almost last on the alternate list) a month ago and since then I've been scrambling to get all my health trackers done and trying to remember what they said at orientation. I just have a few questions to ask you guys:

1. I'm still in progress for my Hep B series so I filled out a Missing Documentation Upload Form, but on the form there is something that says "graduation code" can anybody help me out and let me know what that is?

2. We wouldn't need our flu shots yet since it isn't flu season yet, correct?

3. On Certified Profile all the way at the bottom there is a "problem indication" folder where you respond with if you had a history of back problems or had any disease of the titers. I had chickenpox when I was younger, so do I respond that I had chicken pox in that box?

BTW, I'm in Group G of the Trimester students

Congratulations @kpascual! Welcome to Group G

1. Graduation code for trimester is 0516T (that's our expected grad date May 2016 and T for, you guessed it, Trimester!)

2. Yes, I believe we still need a flu shot even if it isn't technically flu season yet

3. Yes, that's correct... this is where you need to let them know if you had had any of the diseases you got titers for.

That's my two cents... If you want definitive answers, email the person in charge of CP (---------------), or you can look it up on the SON faculty directory

Another question....

How many days and what days per week is your schedule?

Is it 3 or 4 days per week? And what about weekends?

Well, there are preset schedules. I'm in group G trimester, which is basically 4 days a week, with Monday off and Friday clinicals. It depends which schedule the SON sets.

So 3 days class and 1 clinical day?

How many hours per day do you have class?

So 3 days class and 1 clinical day?

How many hours per day do you have class?

My Wednesdays are full, I have 3 classes that make my day last from 9am-9pm. Tuesdays I have my fundamentals class, from 9am-12:30pm, Thursdays I believe we go to the hospital before clinicals, pre-care plans I believe. I'm moving today!

Is it true that trimester students have tougher professors compare to the basic program ?

congrats on getting in!!! no we don't need flu shots yet I don't think. And just put no for the problem indication. If you mess up anything they will inform you, it was a lot of stuff to get done on that website! I think you still need to show your titers for chicken pox.. Always show titers for everything and make sure you show quantitative titers where they say they need it. I'm in group F but I'm sure we will all get to know each other

Hey limorgolan,

I am in the process of applying to SON for Spring 2015...and I have a few questions:

1. How should I report an AP class on the SON application?

2. How exactly do you calculate your score?

3. Does an A- and an A both count as a 4.0? I heard from someone that they don't count the plus/minus of a grade.

Also, for all those people saying that the AP scores get calculated in from your high school grades, I found this on the documents on the website "Students receive credit that the requirement has been met. However, we calculate students' rating without these courses."

Is it true that trimester students have tougher professors compare to the basic program ?

Who did you hear that from? Why did they say that, and what do they mean?

I've heard it from the previous trimester students , they said the professors are tough and make the course seems hard and also they told me that basic students have better professors . I hope that's not true .

Overall trimester program is harder from what I've heard ,
