CSULB Fall 2015 Applicants-Basic BSN

I am extremely surprised there isn't a thread that exists for students applying to CSU LB for Fall 2015!!

Here are my stats, but enlighten me on one part, what does the general gpa consist of? I actually went to CSULB and met Monalisa, but she said the nursing program only looks at eight classes... Maybe I should call to reassure how they calculate the cummulative GPA, but my other scores are set.

Science GPA: 4.0: 4

TEAS Math: 100 : 2

TEAS Overall: (90.7x2)100:1.814

GE GPA: TBA

So far so good, but being that a 3.0 is the cut off gpa for general and science for the program I am giving myself a 3.0/2= 1.5 as a score and my points would be a 9.314 as a default. Hopefully it will be higher.

To those who got an invite, is there anything to bring with to the interview?

Bring a photo ID, a 2x2 passport photo, and a pencil

Thank you!^^

Fall is ALWAYS more competitive than Spring semester. You don't need a 4.0, I know that for sure! lol. To those who did not get in, don't give up! I got denied in fall and got accepted for spring. Now I'm halfway through the first semester.

For those who did get in! I will see you guys Wednesday! I'll be part of the welcoming committee. Just look for the over-friendly black guy lol.

If you have any questions there, I'll try to answer them as best I can! Good Luck!!!!!

Hey Dickeydo do you happen to know if they are going to accept transfer student for spring 16? I'm aware that sometimes they do no because of low budget. Also, can you tell us a little about how your typical week looks like? (What days do you have classes and what days do you have clinicals) I would really appreciate it, thanks!

How was the interview guys?

How was the interview guys?

It wasn't terrible but I'm not 100% confidentI did that well. I don't feel like I did the best on the written part or the giving directions because of my nerves. Pretty sure I did well on the group communication though which is good. I wasn't 100% committed to CSULB until I just found out about their trimester program and now I want in badly. If I can get it done in 1.5 years rather than 2.5, I'm all for it. Hopefully I make it :(.

My stats for CSULB:

Science GPA: 4.0

Overall: 4.0

Teas score: 87.3%

Teas math: 100%

So that puts me at 9.746 points. If the cut off was 9.55, competition is stiff. Still, good luck to everyone. :)

It went pretty good. I'm lucky I got a good partner for the instructions part!:)

I went to the interview but I only had a 9.0 overall score!?!? I don't get why you guys with super high scores didn't get the email?

Are you a student at Csulb? That could be why.

Yea I've taken all my classes at csulb. Ugh I'm so bummed I'm def not getting in, and this was my 2nd chance applying.

@Hayleelanford

Well you have a higher chance than those of is who didn't get an interview! Did you apply anywhere else?

@hayleelanford, don't despair! I met a lot of people who were coming from all over the state who had applied to schools closer to home, which were actually their first choice (they were just covering their bases with schools farther away, like CSULB.) The applicants they (Long Beach) accept into the program first may not always accept back! This leaves more spaces open for others on the list.
