CSUB Nursing Program for Fall 2014

Hello, I'm making this thread for everyone thinking of applying and applying to CSUB's nursing program for the Fall 2014! This is the month for transfers (like me) to submit the CSU Mentor app. The nursing app is already posted on the college's website!

Any nursing hopefuls for fall 2014?

Thank you! Yes I mean I've been reading previous posts and it seems like that's how it will go down, but I couldn't find it in the FAQ's at CSUB's page so I was just curious. And yes you are right, it's more comforting to know atleast one person in the Bakersfield area just in case ;)

Also, I'm sorry to hear that. That's how I feel about MSMC because it's going to have to be paid with student loans basically so I'll be in debt for a long time. Versus Bakersfield i have financial aid like grants and such. Did you try financial aid? Well, whatever the case may be, I wish you the best and hope everything works out :)

And you're right, most people have already gotten accepted to other places and have most likely secured their spot and all that so that does help make their decision easier since they have already been accepted. I know I placed my deposit on MSMC, but I would just lose the money if I get accepted. Thanks for giving me a little extra hope today @allaboutkitties. You are so kind to respond, and I wish you the best!

Now, let JULY begin and may the odds be ever in our favor! Good Luck everyone! Keep us all updated :shy:

Eek, isn't tuition approximately $30,000 a year at MSMC... When I was thinking of applying for the Bachelor's program, I saw that price and decided not to apply. It's expensive but I've been told by current students that they felt that the education and clinical sites they obtained was well worth the money.

I've tried financial aid but I'm not getting much... not even enough to cover tuition for the whole year, meaning that I would still have to pay part of my tuition, books/supplies, living expenses, etc. I've looked into private loans and pre-qualified but I'm not sure if I want to go down that road. Like you, I don't want to be in debt for a long time LOL.

Since you said you've been looking at apartments to get an idea, have you decided if you're going to rent on your own or find a roommate?

Your welcome & thank you! :cat:

Like I mentioned in another thread, I think this is the only place to vent... We can talk about it with our family and friends but no one quite understands exactly what we're going through in this waiting process expect all the people on this thread and those still waiting to hear back from CSUB!

Acceptance notices have started to go out! I'm in! Good luck everyone! :)

I got accepted!!!!! W00o0o0o0o0o0o

I got accepted!!!!! W00o0o0o0o0o0o

me too!

Yay Congrats to all of you who got accepted! :) Glad to hear e-mails have gone out! Hooray!!

@allaboutkitties Yes that's how much tuition is. So it sucks =/ But yes, the plus is that in the long term it's worth it because of the great hospitals they work with. And I would be getting my own apt and living with my bf. Apts are way less expensive in Bakersfield :) I agree, this forum is nice to vent and get some answers from eachother, it does help :) Glad the letters have started to go out and a lot of our fellow foum members have been accepted so that is AWESOME! Still holding Hope :D

woooo, congrats!

and still good luck to all, hang in there!

Omg Congrats to you !!

I'm so nervous, haven't heard anything yet.

Can you tell us what the email said ?

Can you tell us what the email said ?

Basically just that we are conditionally accepted and will receive formal acceptance after we finish the checklist with like medical and background clearances. Then more info about where to find the paperwork we need to do and that we have to formally accept our acceptance by July 8th. So after that date they'll probably start with the alternate list. That's how it was with Fresno anyway.

I'm sure something will come soon!

congratulations to everyone who got in... I am nervous now since this is the only school i applied in :( let's see what happens ... congrats once again to all the accepted students ...

woooo, congrats!

and still good luck to all, hang in there!

congrats to you for getting in ... if you don't mind me asking what were your total points out of 90?

I thought it was out of a total of 105 points?

Anyways I was sitting at 66 points but I was still worried since Bakersfield students and people living in the area got an easy 10 points.
