Does anyone know in what week do clinicals start?

You will have what is called "alternative clinical experience" or ACE as everyone refers to it beginning on week 1 (unless you have Monday clinical in which case you will begin on week 2. ACE will occur at the same time as clinical and will last 3 weeks. It will be in the nursing labs at school and you will learn skills like led administration, safety and stuff like that. Basically just like lab. Clinical will then begin on week 4

I did my cpr with staying alive cpr and safety. The lady was great. She comes to your house or you can get together. The price is 40 unless you can get a group together and maybe get a discount. It takes a couple of hours and she is nice.

Which books did you find as an old edition? That may be ok for certain books.

Did they add an additional book to our list cerners academic ehr for $187 and it is back ordered, maybe I am missing something on the list they gave us at orientation or they just added another one, because I thought they said only 6 required text and now it says 7.

Also, do we get the Mosbys 2014 nursing video skills 4.0 online version from amazon I see it for $140 ?

The only one I would recommend the old version on would be the nutritional book. The others are used very frequently and with different page numbers/chapters it will make studying a very time consuming task trying to match up everything. The nutritional book is very rarely used.

Just for what it's worth, (and it's your money to spend) the videos were pretty useless. I watched them the first week or two like a good student nurse and then I realized that the instructors go over everything in lab before you do it and they are there to help when you need it. There are 10 students to 1 lab instructor and you have open lab twice a week to practice any skill from any course. You also have YouTube/Google. I wish I didn't spend the money because shortly after I realized the DVD's were useless a new version came out and mine became expensive coasters. They won't know if you don't have them.

or the white shoes, can we get the sketchers white work sneaker? Or should i just order online from a retailer for nurses, and are we dressing out the first week, or do we wait for our instructor to tell us what they want us to get?

I believe it only needs to be an all white pair of shoes...I bought the sketchers work sneakers since I didn't have any all white shoes.
