I don't think either LPN or Paramedic is "superior" than one another. They are two vastly different roles.

In my bridge program we had paramedics and LPNs. Where the LPNs were strong, the paramedics struggled, but where the paramedics were strong, we struggled.

It was the perfect mix though. We all learned from each other's strengths and made it through because of that, I believe.

The whole, "X is superior than Y" argument is from those who are insecure, I find.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry I was misleading in my question. I was curious as I am an educator for EMS courses and do lots of training. I wanted to add the LPN title to the list such as BS, NRP (Paramedic) would the LPN go before paramedic and the paramedic would be listed as last?

I think that by saying "superior", OP was referring to the order in which his credentials would be listed, i.e. would LPN be ahead of EMT, or EMT placed in front of LPN. And not necessarily assuming that LPN is better overall than an EMT, or the reverse.

A BS, an AAS, a LPN and a EMT...

If you go by the link chare posted, it would be this:

Medic2LPN, BS, LPN, EMT-B

(I just chose an EMT at random)

Or if you want the AAS in it as well:

Medic2LPN, BS, AAS, LPN, EMT-B

Though the fact that you have LPN in your username makes it look a bit confusing, as though you are listing the licensure twice. So let's try it like this:

Medic 2. Smith, BS, LPN, EMT-B

Are you in the hospital or the rig? Depending one where you are, display that one first.

I don't think it matters which is superior. I believe it should go in this order:

Highest degree obtained (B.S. - if you have a relevant higher non-nursing degree, you put this first, then the nursing degree)

Licensure (LPN)

State Designations (APRN, for example, if it applied)

National certifications (Nationally registered paramedic)
