Hi everyone! I just recently got accepted into the nursing program for spring of 09 and found out I needed to get CPR certified. My school said that I needed to get a Level C class certification from American Heart Association or a certification for the trained professional from The red cross... I looked at both of these websites and neither are very specific. Has anyone else done this that can give me some pointers? I don't know which class to sign up for! I want to sign up asap so I am certified before school starts! Thanks!

Its funny, I was looking around for the EXACT thing today and gave up because I found it too confusing. I'll just watch and see what answers to this Q pop up.

You probably need to get what is considered CPR for Healthcare Providers. I got mine through American Red Cross, and I think it was actually called BLS for Healthcare Providers. I think there is another comparable course titled CPR for Professional Rescuers.
It wasn't that much different than the regular CPR class...the main difference is that you learn how to do two-man CPR and how to use a bag.
GOOD LUCK!

It's just cpr for healthcare providers, also called BLS. Just a step or two above normal cpr, really; call your local red cross for the next class information. Or, you can contact a local ambulance squad; many of them offer classes (I got mine done that way!).
Good luck :)

Here's a link to what you will need if you decide on the AHA's CPR (BLS for Healthcare Provider).

If you go back to the home page you can put in your zip code to find classes near you.
