CPNE study guide

So I will hopefully be taking my last exam on Tuesday and I'm starting to look ahead to CPNE prep. I see the study guide on their site, but it looks HUGE and I don't want to print all that out here (I'll go through a thousand ink cartridges!). Do they send you a study guide when you apply? Or can you buy one from them that is already printed out?

Oh and PS... get ready for a million questions!! The real hard work is about to begin for me:D

When I tested, I received a CD. I think now you might even be able to download it. Your best bet is to take it to someplace like OfficeMax and have them print it for you. I had it printed double-sided on 3-hole-punched paper; it was more manageable that way, and I could put it in this really cool binder I had with all kinds of pockets and stuff. :)

Oh that's a good idea! I do think I can download it from the excelsior site so I think I will try that. Thanks!!

Get some price quotes first, though -- Staples charged me twice what OfficeMax would have! Oh well ... live and learn. :D

I had mine printed up at a local print shop for about $12. I wasn't thinking and went with spiral bound. Definitely wish I would've done 3 hole punch. I've managed with the spiral, but it's looking a little rough these days!

Also, if you don't have them already, get some sheet protectors, pocket file folders and dry erase markers. You can write on the sheet protectors with dry erase markers. That's how I did all my care plans/evaluation phase and occasionally PCS recordings. I also practiced my labs by writing down my steps on them. Much more paper friendly!

Not sure what kind of printer you have, but I have an HP Photoprinter and bought a pack of paper ($3) and a new black ink cartridge ($20). I printed the entire thing on both sides of the paper. I bound the critical elements at Office Max for $4. So all together it cost less than $30. I still had half of the paper left and 3/4 of the ink cartridge. It did take a little time to reload the paper in the printer and all but I was on a limited budget and it worked. Just a thought.

Thanks for all the tips!!

Felicia, I also have an HP printer, but it goes through black ink cartridges SO fast, I doubt it would be able to get through the packet. Plus it doesn't print on both sides. So I'll just take it somewhere and get it done "professionally".

You'll get a CD. I was a little disappointed in that, but I decided not to print out the entire book, since I can take my laptop anywhere. I even whip it out at work when there is down time. I just printed out the forms that I need.
