CPCC Fall 2019

I have seen a forum for previous semesters and thought I would create a thread for this upcoming semester. How is everyone feeling about their applications? The anxiety is definitely setting in for me!!

I know! I have had a pit in my stomach for the last month... one more week feels like torture lol. The longer they take the more applicants I feel like they must have.

ok.. I spoke too soon. I called the number for the person who responded to my application email and she said that they have not made a formal decision yet. They are still looking over everything. She said possibly a answer in the next week. HOPEFULLY.

Don't hold your breath this week folks. lol!

yup.. they must have had a lot of applicants I'm guessing.

Thanks so much for letting us know! I'll stop checking my e-mail so relentlessly until later next week. And I was thinking the same thing that there was prob a ton of applicants.

I applied for Fall 2019 as well. I’ve been checking my email like crazy. I’m really hoping that I get in. I couldn’t apply last semester because I ended up with a 73.8 on my TEAS. I took it again and got a 76 overall (I ran out of time on the math section so I only got a 78 & the science was horrible so it brought my overall down too). My overall application score was 46.8. It’s really hard to compete with the applicants that have degrees because they all seem to have over 50 points. I have completed all my pre req’s and have a 4.0 GPA so I’m really hoping that will help make up for having a lower TEAS score. Good luck to everyone & hopefully we will hear something SOON!!!

I am waiting for my e-mail response for a Fall start as well. I am honestly not feeling that confident about my application. I have only 37.5 or so points on my application. I had a TEAS score of 77. I am a Certified Medical Assistant but that gives me no extra points because it is a diploma and not a degree. The 3.0 and an AP class section I also didn't qualify for because I have never taken an AP class and honors classes do not count. I have all A's in my pre-reqs but A&P II and Dev. Psych which I am currently taking this semester. I will keep you posted though and let y'all know if a miracle happens. ??

I am also a Certified Medical Assistant with 20 years experience. I wish that counted for something. Good luck!!!

the same thing happened to me with the TEAS. I was just under the cut and had to take it again. 2nd time around I did WAY better. That science section will get ya! They have all these weird questions from high school science that no one would ever remember lol! Wishing you and all of us best of luck!

I agree with the degree aspect, if you already have a degree you get 10 extra points? that’s just unfair. You really don’t stand a chance against them unless you have all your pre reqs done and a good TEAS. Thankfully I have that but, still that’s a major advantage.

I know, all i can think is that there must have been a ton of applicants. Definitely worried.

Still just keeping my fingers crossed. They have to say something by Thursday right?
