considering moving to CA

I am considering a move to CA and was wondering if anyone knew of any hospitals that are still hiring New Graduate nurses in Critical Care?

Many hospitals do, but you are late if you are planning on moving there now. New grad programs have started, or will be very soon. Most of the next programs will not begin until January.

Also, which part of the state? California is quite large with wide variations in weather and salaries, as well as cost of living.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've always wanted to live in CA and I'm pretty open to where. That's unfortunate that most new grad positions are closed already, but I've found there are some hospitals that don't have formal programs and new hires can start pretty much any time. Do you know of any hospitals like this in CA?

Do a search online. Call mangers directly and state your interest in CC. Los Angeles has tons of hospitals hiring. One hospital in the Bay area called Highland Hospital would probably train you. This hospital's new grad pay is fantastic. Create yourself a really good resume, have excellent letter of references from instructors ready.
