CNO Registration

I've passed my CNO registration exam and I'm currently waiting on my police check and it should coming in sometime around March 4th. I'm deciding on dropping off my application in person the day I receive police clearance. Over the phone CNO told me that it takes 15 business days (3 weeks) to process but that's too long for me. Has anyone gotten their CNO registration number is less than 15 business days? I really need to know if there's still hope for me to receive it in less than 15 days lol.

It's stressful and frustrating because I just got hired and the facility is waiting for my registration so I can start on the unit.

There's always the possibility that CNO will process your paperwork faster than the 15 business days. However, will they? Depends on the volume of applications they have...and seeing as CNO goes through the biggest volume of application paperwork out of all the colleges of nurses in the country...likely not. Dropping off your application will speed things up a little (by passing the time it takes for your papers to be sent in the mail), but it all depends on how many applications were submitted before yours.

And remember, within the 15 business days timeline is the absolute fastest the CNO can give you your registration. It can take as long as CNO needs.

You just have to wait it out and tell your employer that you potentially won't get your registration number til later in March.

I went in person, and got my registration number in 7 business days.

Oh okay, thanks! Yeah, I told my employer that I'm going to start about 2 weeks late and my employer said it's fine. That I can start sometime after March 25th. @MPKH
