CNA training

Hi!

I will be applying to nursing school in October. I want to get a job working in the medical field and I would like to become a CNA to get some experience. Has anybody taken any classes to certify me? I live on Long Island - Nassau County.

Thanks

just finished my cna a course at Manhattan Institute will start me internship with a nursing home in the bronx next week. the cousre was 900 it was worth it i had a great teacher.

do u think it necessary to take the cna tech course?

Its not necessary but it is a definite plus. A few places wont hire you unless you can draw blood and take EKGs. They'd rather give one salary for the multiple jobs. Also, it gives you an advantage when you are looking for jobs. A facility may have a phlebotomist or EKG tech position open but not a CNA position, you still qualify.

I am interested in CNA courses. I live in Nassau County. Does anyone know of a good CNA program around here to get my certification?

This is neat. However, I am moving to Miami...so I gotta think about it.
